We were taken to The Najd Village one of the most visited restaurants by locals and tourists alike in Riyadh. Najd Village has the best Saudi meals in the city, served in a museum-like décor. We sat on cushions according to custom. The menu caters both vegetarians and meat-lovers. We tried the two legendary specialties; the soft, Peppery Lamb dish... More

The food is really great but it would be ever greater if they added less oil, one tends to feel heavy after. Do not miss the charcoal boiled black tea at the end of your meal-it's amazing! The service is terrific. The atmosphere and rooms are very traditional with fire places and vintage platings.

It really looks very authentic. Last time we went on a cold January day and had a fire lit up in our family room's chimney. Amazing experience. Best place to experience Saudi food. The food? Well It's very simple and down to earth. Traditional, the way it used to be decades if not a century ago, like in most countries... More

Easily the best traditional restaurant to visit if you're in Riyadh. It has fantastic interiors, best service and excellent Saudi food. You would have to wait for around 30 minutes to get your cabin though. Panorama mall is nearby the Tahlia Najd Village and you can always take your token, walk around in Panorama and come back to claim your... More

I love this traditional Najdi restaurant. It is built as an old mud house. You will find traditional Arabic seating. Food is very tasty. We take our western guests to this place.

Given my limited experience in Saudi Arabia, I couldn't compare this Najd Village with other Arabian restaurants. However, my Saudi hosts told me this is really one of the best "traditional" restaurant in Riyadh. We went there in the late afternoon, after an hard day of work mostly outdoor, no lunch. Temperatures in town were around 41 C, but quite... More

on our business trip we did visit the najd village for dinner. local men came in late for dinner. you can choose between the outside restaurant (all seated on the floor) or in a private chamber. nice style, had great slow cooked lamb, hommos, starters etc... fruit juices not fresh. nice ambiente, fast service.

The place is very well designed and had a good atmosphere. The food is good but too heavy. If you have never been there, I do recommend you give it a try.

Description
This is a traditional Saudi Arabian restaurant where EVERYTHING is traditional, from the food, decor (think 1950's Riyadh) & dinning style (on the floor). It does not seem to have a website, which is why I think I haven't seen any foreigners there. This is a hidden gem I believe particularly western visitors would enjoy. Truelly authentic.
