Beit Sitti ("my grandmother's house") is a great little place in the old center of Amman where they host Arabic cooking lessons. They'll accommodate anything from one person to large groups and will teach you to make any dish you're interested in. The restaurant feels like a home - and most likely was - complete with decades-old family photos on... More

Visited this place having read great reviews about it in a number travel magazines and guides, and it lived up to all the hype. The setting is charming, the house is homely and beautiful and the staff wonderful. We were shown by Maria how to make a number of local dishes and sides. Maria is one of the three sisters... More

Best Sitti is a good Amman experience. It is in a beautiful house, and you will gain insights into Jordanian cuisine while getting your hands dirty. If you don't expect a true cooking class and don't expect your best meal in Amman, you can spend an enjoyable evening that will definitely leave an impression. Beware that the restaurant/house is difficult... More

We were persuaded to join a large group for dinner cooking lesson as opposed to our own 4 person private lesson. The house is magnificent, its history very interesting, the meal and company was great, The group was 20 people, our "cooking experience" was chopping one onion and cucumber, then watching some final prep by our host, followed by a... I've taken several cooking classes while traveling, and this is probably one of the best ones I've ever done. First off, the venue itself is unbelievably charming. Classes are held in the house above the Beit Sitti restaurant. It is a beautifully done up old building that will have you take almost as many photos of the house, as the... More

We thought it would be a nice idea to cook some of the amazing food we had been eating in Jordan so we signed up for a class. It was a full house with barely enough room to cut. The person in charge did not know much about food. The lovely woman that did all the cooking was great but... More

We learned to cook a delicious Jordanian meal using spices, and fresh vegetables, rice, and chicken. We were grateful that after the experience, the recipes were provided so that we can try them at home! It was a nice way to meet fellow travelers, and get to know people over an excellent meal.

We were a group of 10+ attending for office team building activity while on business trip to Amman. Was a very pleasant experience, which kept everyone busy and resulted in a very nice meal self cooked meal at the end. Worth doing.
