Nice ambiance - and pretty much this is the only positive I can say. Service is cold, but the white wine is warm. Forgetful and clumsy staff. Bottled water brought to the table without asking, no choice given. Food is okay, but I had better...food in Jordan. Go somewhere more 'local'.More

A very good (sort of) upscale restaurant on Rainbow Street. Truly excellent food and service. Very tasty. Large offer and excellent setting in the garden. May be hard to get a table, reservation is needed. Recommended and would return.

Visiting to see our daughter who is living here; this was our first night restaurant which she recommended. Excellent meze; my daughter thinks the best in Amman. Falafel, hummus, lamb in tomato stew, the list goes on. The constantly replenished flat bread was to die...for. Don't usually revisit when away; but might well here.More

It's my choice in Amman. I stayed there and I decided to return other time during my stay in Amman. It serves local dishes well prepared and at the same well presented. The location is also inviting.

We visited Sufra on our first night in Amman, following a recommendation in the Lonely Planet. We were with our 6 year old daughter so ate early evening and on arrival were all blown away by the beauty of the garden area. It was stunning!...And despite being early and fairly empty there was still a lovely atmosphere which got better and better as more diners steadily arrived. We had no idea what to order so we asked the waiter to bring a mixture - whatever he recommended - he suggested 3 cold mezze, 3 warm, and 2 main course dishes between the 3 of us. His choices were impeccable and mouth-wateringly delicious. There was more than we could eat but we would not have missed anything out as the mixture was just perfect - everything complementing each other and creating a wonderful introduction to the best of Jordanian cuisine. It felt like a very special meal and we are so glad we went!More

After 8 days of hotel buffet food I was excited to try a more traditional restaurant, so after looking up where the best place was in Amman, Sufra came highly recommended. I went in at lunch time (it was shut between 12 and 1pm) without...a reservation and they were able to seat me straight away (solo diner). The aesthetic was very cool and clean. I opted for the lamb Fukharat (traditional dish cooked in a clay pot) which was really tasty. Overall a lovely dining experience!More

We checked the website and it said the restaurant was open from 9am-11pm on Friday. We got there at 11.20 am and were told the kitchen was shutting down for breakfast by 11.30 am and would not reopen until 1pm. Romero group, do better please....The Person at the door was quite stubborn and told us we could only sit inside, when there were tables on the porch available. He said they were to be left clean for the lunch service. I told him I Felt that he was being quite difficult and unreasonable, seeing as this information was not on the website. He said it was corporate rules he was following. Needless to say, we felt that we walked all the way to this restaurant that we had heard so much about only to be denied service. A waiter by the name of Ahmad, approached us and Said he would seat us in the porch if we could order quickly before the kitchen closed. Once seated, it was a bit more relaxing, the ambience is beautiful, it's an old converted house with lots of character. We ordered quickly and the food was delicious. Price wise it was average in my opinion, it's not cheap eats, but for the 3 of us a full breakfast came to 30JD. Be wary of these arbitrary rules they told us about.More

We visited the beautiful Jordan during Ramadan and therefore we enjoyed most of the time the Ramadan buffet. Sufra was one of the few exceptions that we are very glad to have enjoyed. Great food of the typical Jordan cuisine, wonderful atmosphere and courtesy of...the staff. Hard to recommend something as everything was specialMore

The restaurant has a nice ambience in the patio area. The welcoming was ok, took them a while to give me the menu even though they were not busy. Once I sat down , they immediately opened a bottle of water and poured into my...glass. I think it’s an appalling business practice as I feel like I wasn’t given a choice. They of course charged me 2.75 jd for it in the bill. I was dining on my own, I would order water but not a large bottle like what they gave me which of course I couldn’t finish. I enjoyed the food though and the bread was warm. Overall it was an expensive meal and a bit overrated.More

This is the place which you need to: 1. Book in advance 2. Come in hungry This is a gem of a restaurant, frequented by Western public in Amman - you see all kind of customers there, from managers of Western companies in Jordan to...ambassadors and tourists. The service is very polite, the food - beyond imaginable, it is arguably one of the best restaurants of Jordanian cuisine in the country. The atmosphere is lovely, and the garden, where most of the tables are, is well secluded from the hustle and bustle of Amman downtown streets. Cards are taken, English is spoken, selection of Jordanian and foreign beverages is substantial.More

we spent twice a lovely lunch at Sufra's and enjoyed the great service, the really good food, the variety for the vegetarians among our group and last but not least the beautiful garden. The lemon-mint-juice is wonderbul, all mezze and for a main course, try...the chicken Sajeyet Jaj with pine nuts. The bread comes freshly baken and is delicious.More
