Our group chose to dine at Sufra's on our last night in Amman. This place has a HUGE selection to choose from so it was difficult to decide. It was moderately priced in a fairly ritzy location (and atmosphere) - but the staff could have been more attentive and friendly.

Beautiful house and setting, very traditional. Very friendly service, and food comes fast! You get home-made olives on the table when you ait down, which taste wonderful. They make the bread in a very traditional way, and serve it within the minute it is made, so it is just amazing!! Pity they don’t serve it in towels to keep it warm. Then the dishes are wonderfully tasty, textures, cooking, tastes, everything comes together to ravish your taste buds!! The mashawi mixed grill was a bit dry though... Humus, falafel, rocca salad, saj lamb were wonderful!! Beware that it is a smoking place, and I am quite difficult with that, but I didn’t get bothered at all by the smoke and the smell. We went back for our last lunch in Jordan the next day!!

We went for dinner at Sufra and were delighted to taste authentic Jordanian food there. Food was outstanding cooked to perfection. We had Mansaf (buttered rice with lamb), tahini, hummus billahmeh with minced chicken, kibbeh (meat koftas), labneh (strained yoghurt) and chicken with aubergine. The bread given as accompaniment was soft and tasted delicious. The ambience of the restaurant is homely with great service from the staff who were helpful and always smiling. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and will definitely return to Sufra if we visit Jordan again.

Delicious food no dought, beautiful place with nice decorations but it was over rated, difficult to reach for tourist from out side Jordan. And very very expensive comparing to other places with same quality. My bill was 45.2 dinars for only 2 main dishes and a bottle of water( which they forced me to have) The worst thing they did which was so not professional is that when i paid my 45.2 bill i gave the waiter 50 he gave me back 3 dinars instead of 4.8 because they toke 1 dinar for charity without asking for my permission and they didn't gave back the small change 0.8 !! they should not do such a thing

We came for dinner to experience the Mansaf , typical Jordanian dish . The location is fine and visited by many tourists but also local people. The food was good but nothing special as compared to other places in Jordania. The staff is not very warm with their hosts, some efforts with smiling would be a + . So for a Fatayer Spinach dish (4 little rolls) and 2 Mansaf with meat and water , be ready to pay after the taxes a 40 dinnar bill. I know a Jordanian restaurant in Paris with better quality /price ratio so try rather the really local restaurants in downtown if you want to spend more time in very cool Jordania. Eventually I guess you pay for the location in Rainbow Street.

I had two mezes and a soup for lunch. The dishes were good as was the homemade pita bread that they give you. Service was generally good but they forgot one of the items that I had ordered so I had to re-order it. Overall I thought it was very good. Definitely worth a visit if you’re nearby.

Booked dinner here as recommended in the guide book. The food was really tasty and I enjoyed the national dish Mansaf. The lamb just fell apart. Service was great. The food was reasonably priced - less than ÂŁ40 for 3 courses and soft drinks for 2- but this is probably a bit pricier than other local restaurants. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and a welcoming decor. Definitely advise booking as it always seems busy

This is an excellent restaurant. We ate outside, diners at the other tables were affluent locals and some tourists. The waiters were run off their feet, so the service was a bit slow, but that doesn't matter when you're on vacation enjoying the atmosphere. Choose your dishes carefully, avoid mezes and go for something more substantial. Eating in Amman is not expensive

Just went in on the last day of my visit to Amman after friends recommended it. Found it and was looking forward to the food. The restaurant was empty after waiting for 10 mins got told they were full. I said you are empty and I am a visitor on my last day they said go away I told them I would write a review on trip advisor I got told they just had a cancellation and they can accommodate us now. I thanked them and left. What an awful experience.

One of the best experiences I had in my time in Amman -delicious food, great service and an amazing traditional setting in a peaceful courtyard amongst the busy vibe of Rainbow Street. Good selection of hot and cold mezze at reasonable prices and they serve alcohol now too (some previous reviews indicated they didn’t), so I was pleasantly surprised. Easily the best meal I had in Jordan.

This is a good choice if you are looking for a genuine place and a traditional selection of Jordanian dishes. One of the few restaurants where you will find the type of food usually made and served at typical Jordanian houses. This makes it an ideal place if you have foreign guests who ask to try local dishes. If you are going there on a summer night then make sure to reserve a table before you go and ask to be seated in the outdoor area. Nice ambience and a comfortable and reasonably spacious seating area. The staff is friendly and the service is prompt and you can ask for advice from the waiters on what and how many dishes to order. The food is light and rightly portioned so you will most probably have no or very little leftovers. If you wish to go for a light and tasty dessert then pick the pistachio ice cream. The place is easily accessed and has valet service. Expect to pay 25 JD per person.

We've read good reviews about Sufra, so we decided to spend our Christmas dinner there yesterday. Indeed the food was super delicious, but unfortunately the service turned out to be rather disappointing. The restaurant has a nice decoration, it was nice to see while passing by because we were seated outside in a plastic covered terrace, not exactly as friendly as the cozy interior, and despite of some heaters the end where we had to sit was still a bit uncomfortable-cold. I have to mention that the place apparently was not fully booked when we arrived and we waited 10 minutes for the table. Our order was partly forgotten, namely the glass of wine and the sweets but surprisingly the price of the latter was added to the bill. To be fair when we complained about it they corrected, brought the dessert and apologized, blaming the "too many" guests, which is a bit amateur, and still without us checking they could have let us walk away easily. Moreover although the service was far from perfect, due to the quality of food we decided to give some tip, altogether 50 JOD instead of 43 JOD. Then the waiter explained something about the "customary" tip in Jordan and we ended up paying 52. JOD. This "mistake" happened with other guests too next to our table, so even though it most probably wasn't a trick it left us with an uncomfortable feeling. Maybe it would be better and more clear to include the service fee into the receipt to avoid this.    All in all, the food is excellent, but seemingly the staff rushed for the quick money yesterday, trying to serve more table than their human resources could manage, even forgetting to say goodbye back - we know it's a small thing but at least it is for free. Regrettably this dinner wasn't a relaxing experience to recommend, we definitely have not expected these low level service issues in this otherwise quality establishment.

This is highly recommended. We visited after a recommendation for friends and although it is kind of pricey for Jordan standards it was our favourite dining experience in Jordan. Make sure to try a few different dishes as they are all super tasty. Highly recommended!

We have gone 2 nights in a row to have dinner as the quality of the food is good. However, we won't come back as the service has been awful. The waiter Romel served us both times and he completely spoilts the experience. The first time, he advised us to take more food than needed and afterwards he brougth us other dishes from other table and one of the appetizers came as the last dish and only becuase we reminded him. Next dinner, he said outloud on several ocassions when he was close to our table that we were a table that doesn't give tips (very unproffesional) and each time he served us a dish it was as if he threw it to us. Very dissapointing experience.

The food, in general, is very good. The service could have been better! You feel that the staff are doing you a favor by serving you. What shocked me is the cleanliness of the place! I booked a table in advance, yet, the table was unclean when we arrived. Chairs were full of small bits and pieces of remaining food from previous customers.
