After long time. We visit again after a long time great food and the falafel so tasty love the place Amman downtown when you can find the old restaurant and old shopping markets.

It is a must-visit restaurant, the food is average, it does not have a nice view, it is not even that clean, but it is culturally & historically important. The place is located in downtown Amman near the Roman Amphitheater, so you can do them...all together in the same visit.More

An institution of sorts, Hashem, in downtown Amman, is probably the most well-known restaurant in the city and is a landmark of sorts. We'd seen multiple online reviews on YouTube before landing in Jordan and couldn't wait to get there. And, finally, we did get...there, it didn't let us down. It's spread out, but still basic. The options on the menu are limited, but still more than enough to have you stuffed & satiated. The service was super quick and the portions beyond generous, esp. considering the price. For 4 JD (under USD6) - there were loads of Hummus, fresh salad, bread, falafels, foul beans - in fact, it was so much in plenty, we'd to request them to take some back to avoid wasting food. This would be way more than enough for 2 people! And finally, the food was awesome (sumptuous and fresh) All-in-all, it's a must-visit when in Amman, it's heartening to see a predominantly vegetarian (90%, if not 100%) restaurant rated as the top restaurant in an Arab city (generally perceived to be meat-biased) :). Also, while you're there please do stop-by at Fouad Falafel for a falafel wrap in pita bread - it's probably the best in the city (they are located in a small-quiet lane bang opposite Hashem) and grab a fresh pomegranate juice from the stall opposite Fouad. It's a perfect way to begin the gastronomic experience at HashemMore

According to their website it is open 24/7 but if you're not sure you can call them before going in. People go there for breakfast, so anytime after 7am sounds pretty safe to me.
