Apart from the nightmare traffic to get there, it's a nice place to visit. A one time settlement which has been converted into a restaurant and culture centre of sorts. The food was ok, really nothing special however. The venue is obvisiously a place for tourists (there were locals also of course). The menu I had was set, so portions... More

Excellent food with wide variety from Arabic/Turkish cusine. Very good service and great atmosphere. Exotic old yet classy design However very expensive (USD 100 for 2 adults if you really want to enjoy the food and try different Maza)

This place cannot be missed in Jordan, the venue literally takes you to another era and the food is the best I have had in the Middle East. The labne & the bread really stand out, the service is sterling and the terrace is a true haven of peace, specially in the evenings. The place is very well run. Do... More

A really exotic and amazing setting. Loved the lighting, brick arch ways and the vaulted ceilings. Good range of Lebanese food on the menu. Really good music playing in the background.

We head to Kan Zaman for Ramadan Iftar. We are a family of four, 2 adults and 2 children. They were offering a set menu for the price of 26 JD per person, including taxes. The food was awesome. When we arrived, the table was already filled with different kinds of appetizers. So, we didn't have to wait for anything!... More

A Timeless Tale Retold Nestled on the hilltop of an old Jordanian village and enclosed within the stone walls of an ancient settlement is Kan Zamaan—Arabic for once upon a time. Kan Zamaan was once the focal point of Khirbet Abu Jaber, an isolated rural area developed by merchant brothers for farming and ranching. The impressive 19th century estate—dating back to Ottoman rule—served as an agricultural warehouse and a horse barn before succumbing to ruin. The heritage estate’s 21st century renovation into a restaurant incorporates this golden past into the modern, perfectly balancing the old and new. Today, Kan Zamaan is a distinguished venue that offers unique, authentic Oriental and local cuisine garnished with forgotten traditional flavors to delight local food lovers. Kan Zaman Restaurant consists of three distinct venues: the stable transformed into an elegant dining room, Bustan Kan Zaman (the garden), its stunning breezy patio overlooking the peaceful Al Yadoodeh greenery, and Bread & Salt, a bakery with homemade, preserved items from our pantry, offered fresh every day on its shelves. Oriental and local cuisine, authentic flavors and expertly made food, art and music and culture: all find their home within the ancient walls of Kan Zamaan. The legacy of once upon a time is now present.
