If you want a very pleasant authentic meal, that isn't anything 'strange' to the UK palate, try the Sajieh here, in downtown Amman. A wonderful experience.

Restaurant is located on second floor with indoor and outdoor seating overlooking the crowded streets of downtown. The menu is versatile, all kind of Arabic appetizers including: Hummus, Labaneh, salads, Kubbeh, Halloumi cheese etc For mains: their specialty seems to be dishes cooked in clay... More

We went as a family to this establishment for dinner with friends. It was vibrant and busy, but getting a table for the seven of us was no problem. Smoking is heavy all over Jordan and this restaurant is no exception, but if you want to have to accept it to an extent. The food was of an excellent quality,... More

We had a really fun dinner here, if you really want to go where the locals go and to have an authentic experience come here. It has a great atmosphere, tasty food at extremely reasonable prices, great live band, shisha… Halfway through the meal they turn of the lights and light candles on every table.

Recommended by my Jordanian friend, I made sure I visited here and was not disappointed. Great food, thoroughly enjoyed it, great shisha, had dessert too, enjoyed the live music and atmosphere. It is buzzing with the locals and always busy. I had the pleasure to return a second time just for shisha and smoothie which wasn't that great but nonetheless... More

After walking around in downtown Amman, my husband and I had a very tasty traditional Jordanian breakfast at Jafra. The food (hummus, foul, manakesh, olives) was really tasty. The service was very good , and waiters are very friendly. I also loved the rustic atmosphere of the restaurant. I think it is very much worth the visit. I will definitely... More

I don't smoke, but I enjoyed my visit there. Most people there smoke Shisha (flavoured tobacco), and there was a big cloud of smoke inside.
