About
Onza is the place where a young, vibrant Tel Aviv atmosphere combines with the magic and mystery of the Jaffa flea market to make a delicious restaurant “cocktail”. Here, a sophisticated and innovative bar is blended with a meticulous menu created by chefs Arik Darhani and Muli Magriso that gives Ottoman and Turkish cuisine a contemporary twist, using the finest ingredients and advanced cooking techniques. The outdoor scenery is composed of Jaffa alleyways that are filled with fascinating sights, scents, and ancient secrets on every corner, and this ideally complements the restaurant’s interior. Designed by architect Dan Troim, the restaurant features a large bar, tables that extend out into

The Jaffa area of Tel Aviv has some nice places to eat. It's an outside setting with a lot of atmosphere. We came across the ONZA restaurant - described as Turkish food - and thought 'Why not'? We should have thought a bit more before...ordering. The seating was very hard and uncomfortable. The table next to us looked more comfortable and was free. We asked to move there. The people said that it was booked but for our entire time it remained empty. The food portions - when they came - were small (compared to the prices that were high). Almost 90 shekels for 5 small pieced of grilled chicken on a stick. 144 shekels for a steak that in fact was about 10 small sliced pieces and overcooked. Who are the mean-minded people running this restaurant? You charge a reasonably high price per dish - so at least deliver good value with it!! We ended up paying a bill of 500 shekels for 3 people - for food that was barely enough. The bread itself was 24 shekels per time. Owners of ONZA - be ashamed at your petty-mindedness. My advice is to avoid this mediocre and mean place and look for somewhere that really understands 'customer value'.More

Amazing food! I ordered the lachmaajun with lamb meet that was so well made and we really enjoyed the location and street atmosphere, and the sweet-swee t-obe of a to kind Malabi desert. And do try one of their cocktails.

The service and the food was really good. Very tasty dishes and interesting approach in serving. Not for meet lovers. The bathroom wasn't clean.

This restaurant is close to my home so we visit it quite often. The service is very friendly but the food is what makes it special! It represents the arabic culture in a modern way! Well done guys keep up the good work!

In the heart of streets full of young people. ‏Vanza serves food with a Turkish motif, lots of yoghurt in each dish. ‏Special dishes like Pastorma cigar, very special. Pads it was a kind of focaccia...with different fillings, very tasty. ‏Excellent tomato salad. Eggplant with yogurt and pistachios, interesting and delicious. ‏Cauliflower salad, excellent. ‏Excellent potato chips. ‏Special cocktails with rocket and more. excellent service. ‏Reasonable pricesMore

Food, service, atmosphere, all first rate!! We’ve eaten at Onza several times in 2017 & 2019. Multiple times each year. Never had more delicious food and friendly service. Our first time was with two Israeli sisters we befriended who said it was a local favorite...as well as with tourists. We kept going back!More

First visit to Onza after having visited "Sister" restaurants Mashya and Kitchen Market. Very pleasant experience with friends. Located in a very vibrant section of Jaffa, food was flavourful, interesting and would definitely return. Service was excellent!

We went to Onza for my birthday dinner last June During Covid-19 time. First of all, social distancing was great. Let’s talk about the food. This place is not Kosher. So, for first course we took three Turkish Mazze. All of them were amazing (I’m...half Turkish myself so that’s was same as my grandmother’s home) My wife took glass of wine and I asked for a cocktail, here is the thing I don’t have any problem paying 16$ for a cocktail BUT not for a cocktail in Whisky glass and the alcohol was barely noticeable please be aware of that my recommendation drink a beer or wine stay away from cocktails it was almost like insulting the customer . As a main course we had two Turkish “Pide” they had amazing freshness and tase again just like in Turkish. For dessert we Sutlac which is Turkish rice pudding, halva crumble & banana in toffee also no mistakes here amazing taste All to all amazing food great atmosphere price for couple was around 130$. I do highly recommend about this restaurant except the cocktails trick!!More

I would reserve a high table inside if you are a couple. If you are more then a couple you should choose the upstairs.
