I had a lovely experience eating at Pastel. The service great as was the food. Now, our server was attentive and helpful with our choices. The ambience is fabulous, the presentation of the food was beautiful although it was pricey. I highly recommend it to...people who want a special eating experience. I certainly will go back. The host (dressed in a silver jumpsuit as it was Purim) greeted us with warmth and enthusiasm. We quickly learned that all of the servers were just as nice. We went along with our server's recommendations and enjoyed delicious brisket on toast, a yummy salad...of pickled root vegetables and mozzarella, beef ragout with potato foam and wonderful carrots and their famous Chicken Maqluba. Everything was presently beautifully and was delicious. Hats off to the chef!!!More

We were four people for lunch. We're sited at a table for six. Much too big. Was very difficult to hear from the opposite side of the table. Very reasonable lunch menu. Waitress was helpful and professional but the food was very slow coming to...the table. The plates were good but definitely not outstanding. From past experience we expected more.More

Welcome was indifferent. Place looks nice. I smelled bursts of toilet freshener smell, asked the waiter if they add smell to the AC, he confirmed, asked if I mind, i said I do, he said he's ask to stop that. He didn't and I guess...they wouldn't, best would have been to explain why they do it and nice to offer the option to stay or leave rather than to say they'll take care and not do. Smoked tomato soups were bland, we asked to return, clearly that distressed the waiter and the shift manager who other than give some cold looks didn't bother to approach or comment. Food was OK, nothing outstanding. Service was OK, nothing outstanding, a bit indifferent perhaps. Not worth a second visit in my opinion.More

Pastel is certainly a nice place. Upscale. The food is good, but not amazing. Service was professional, but slow. Definitely much better dining options in Tel Aviv and certainly better value.
