Hidden within the Imperial Hotel, the Imperial Craft cocktail Bar is a creation of veteran bartenders of the city, to create a temple to the lost craft of the cocktail.the kitchen is asian-colonial inspired, and the music varies from classic oldies at early hours to swing jazz and blues come latenight, when most of the city's bartenders come for an after work nightcap.

One of the Best Cocktail Bars in the World

Charming and intimate setting within a warm and cozy atmosphere. We felt like we had been transported to a foreign location and stepped back in time. Don't let the dated exterior of the hotel deter you. Once inside the Imperial Craft Cocktail Bar you will discovery why this is a hidden gem. Recognized as being one of the best cocktail bars in the world, it becomes immediately apparent while digesting the cocktail menu. Cocktails bearing clever names are unique in their blend of ingredients, using interesting combinations of spirits, wines, liquors and herbs. I requested a light cocktail and was served a special, flavorful concoction. Interesting to hear the numerous languages being spoken by the international Imperial patrons; a group from Russia sat to our left. Cocktails were pricey yet worth the cost due to the effort and complexity of our drinks. This bar created the "square, one ice cube concept", so as not to water down the cocktail. Imperial Craft Cocktail Bar was highly recommended by the concierge at the Embassy Hotel, located just around the corner, otherwise we would not have discovered it. Service was friendly, helpful and prompt. Surprising discovery and a fun adventure. Memorable experience.

Did Not Live Up to Expectations

I know when I read that this is the best cocktail bar in Tel Aviv, that I had high expectations. I also realize that visiting several great cocktail bars in the past, such as the Manhattan in Singapore, may have also skewed my experience (for the worse). But overall, I was disappointed in our experience. The hostesses were fantastic and started the evening off well. We got a seat at the bar which I like as I mix drinks myself and like to see how others do it. The drink menu is creative with drinks from around the world. When my wife asked if one of the drinks could be made less spicy, she was told unequivocally that it could not. I am not sure it was the arrogance of the bartender about changing the drink (that is how he came off) or if he simply wasn't skilled enough to do so, but neither went down well. The bar advertises being able to tailor one's cocktails, but could not. Overall, we ordered two cocktails a piece, as well as food, The food, especially the mushrooms were very good. The drinks were fine (3 off the menu, one special request) - but none really blew me away. In sum, you go to a nice cocktail bar for the drinks and the experience. The interactions with the bartender were stilted which highly influenced the latter.

Little gem of a bar

Ori was behind the bar when I arrived with a few late night patrons. I had come in from a very long trip from NY, couldn’t sleep and always wanted to try the cocktails here. I told Ori what I was looking for and wage to try one of their specialty drinks. He suggested the Grapes and Co. and I was not disappointed, it was great. While drinking it he was making something that smelled like licorice and I had to know what it was. He was so happy to tell me and others what was in it. He even brought me a historical cocktail book and pointed it out-of course he had put his special touch on the one he made. I told him for my next drink I wanted a smoky mezcal or tequila involved and he came up with the Oaxaca old fashioned and made it to my liking, saying ‘if it’s not for you after two sips tell me and I will make what you want’. He made conversation with all of us closing the bar and was so great to point out his favorite spots in Tel Aviv too. I’ll be back there one day! Great experience.

Hidden gem

We would never have guessed that one of the best bars in the world would hide inside the rather rundown hotel, but were so glad we read about it and went looking for it. We had such a wonderful experience here yesterday. The decor is beautiful and fun, really living up to its name, and the cocktail menu is like a piece of art. The cocktails are creatively and beautifully crafted, and the bartender were happy to create cocktails not on the menu to meet our preferences as well. The vibes of this place and the cocktails are top-notch, definitely deserving all awards they have received. A new favorite spot in the world for us! It might be good to make a reservation if you are three or more, as the place is quite small. (We had to wait for a while to get a seat at the bar even though we were just two, but we were served by the friendly staff at some temporary seats while waiting, which was great.)

Groovy little scene with creative cocktails and excellent food. Had the ceviche and a fish special. High quality restaurant level. Mixologist was helpful in describing the drinks and pointing us in the right direction. Fun evening.

Worms in the Food at Imperial

This bar is a disaster. So we re having bar food. There is a worm twisting and turning in the food. We are shocked, and decide to leave. The waiter explains that the bar is not responsible for the kitchen. The manager intervenes, an abnoxious, rude lady. She makes no commercial gesture, offers no apologies, makes a drama. We left no tip. She yelled "don't come back" as we were leaving the bar. This one single incident should disqualify them from any ranking.

Good but service stunk.

Drinks depend on what you get. Not great to very tasty. I’d suggest to tell bartender what you like & they can make you something. Food delicious. Small place so sit at bar or make sure you like your company. Service stunk. We returned a drink because was too harsh tasting & we waited unnecessarily imo a very long time for a new one, which was uncomfortable.

The bar is very small and intimate and has a great feel to it. Not crowded or noisy even when full. The drinks are really interesting and unique but they can be hit or miss. Make sure to discuss your preferences with the waiter. And service can be slow but it’s definitely worth a visit.

Cosy cocktail bar with attentive staff

Attentive staff and a good selection of cocktails. What was great is that they could also make cocktails that weren’t on the menu and were able to make something based on my specific likes/preferences. Quite a small space so be prepared to sit very near to people!

Great cocktails...pricy

A rather small place with great atmosphere and very good music. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The cocktails are special, contain high-quality ingredients, and served in a unique and individual fashion. Me and my wife shared a desert that was good. The prices are higher than usual (this why a graded this place with four stars). Worths a visit.

Rude waitress with bad attitude

Great vibe but terrible service from the woman at the bar. Bad attitude. Rude. Took away my drink before the end of our booking and asked me to go drink outside. this at 10:20. table booked for 10:30. outrageous!

I give high marks to this bar for its creativity and innovation, with a splash of fun. I love to visit cocktail bars, the world over, and my brother does own a speakeasy. This is a small bar, about the size of Harry's Bar in Venice, and equallu hard to obtain a seat without a reservation. Once seated, you will enjoy a very cozy and well designed space. The bar tenders are mixologists in the pure sense and are friendly. The menu, which nods toward the world traveler is very creative in both the recipes offered, the story about each and the presentation.

Best cocktails in town

One of the best Wiskey Sours I have ever had in my life. There are 2 different bars in this building, but you should be careful as the prices are also different. Still, just wow.
