Wanted to visit here as comes up on so many Tel Aviv tourist / info websites. Made it Ione late afternoon so cannot really review for breakfast/brunch for lunch. When wife and I were there it was not full and so no queue to experience. Selected the pancakes and syrup and enjoyed this dish (although later felt rather full before supper with rest of family)

Hi NickDavis,
Thank you for taking the time to review us. We are happy to hear that you were able to arrive in the later afternoon and therefore avoid the queue - it is a very busy time of year and can often be frustrating for our visitors (even though we do our best to seat everyone as soon as possible).
We love the pancakes, and it seems so do our customers! Hope to see you again :-D
Warm regards,
Team Xoho

We felt like a good sandwich. There is no bread in the house. At the takeaway order came two delicious bagels one with perfect cream cheese. The other with smoked salmon and treats. Exemplarily packaged. Sliced in half for easy grip. The lemonade is a bit pricey but very tasty. We will order again!

Bring back the guacamole bagel !!!
We came to this cafe four times in one week but the last time we were disappointed to find that our favourite option had been removed from the menu. This was very sad :(
Ps.
Cookies could be bigger.
Pps. Otherwise very nice, will come here again. 🥑🍪

Hi Emil!
We are currently trying a mew menu that's a bit smaller (we believe that less is often more) :)
Its very important for us to know how our customers feel about the menu changes, so thank you so much for taking the time to review us!

We had a shocking experience here today with the service and food. We queued outside for around 20 minutes and tried to wait in the foyer as it was raining however, we were told to wait outside whilst they allowed other people to queue inside (wtf?!?) despite us being next in the queue. We ended up with a shared table , sharing with a couple who arrived after us but were seated first.
We chose to visit this cafe because it is advertised with a lot of Gluten Free options . However, nothing on the menu was actually gluten free as the waitress informed us that the food will contain gluten (same utensils, toasters and ingredients are used!) And to quote " we are not very good at allergies".
The service was incredibly slow and items on the menu weren’t available. Would not return and do not recommend.

Dear Chris Heels,
We were so sorry to hear about your experience at the Cafe. Rain is not a frequent occurrence in Tel Aviv, and when it happens it always causes a bit of a mess. Our hostesses try to be fair and go by the list, but sometimes certain things "fall through the cracks", so to speak. In addition, customers will often not comply to the hostess's request to stay outside in an effort to avoid crowding the seated tables.
We do not personally advertise ourselves as having many gluten-free options and are very careful to specify to customers that we do not have a gluten free space. It may seem like an excuse, but the majority of our front of house staff are not native English or Hebrew speakers, so perhaps the translation came across as incorrect and rude. In any case this will be a subject up for discussion at our upcoming staff meeting, because as the owner I can assure you that we take allergies very seriously. We simply do not have a big enough space to completely separate gluten at this time, which is why our servers are trained to let people know (perhaps not exactly in the way that you described) that this is the case.
We have been working on a new menu for some time, and in an effort to be completely honest - I gave birth three weeks early to our first child and so certain things (including fresh new menus without missing items) were simply put on hold. This is by no means your problem, but hopefully will serve as an explanation. New menus are due to be out within the next two weeks - it has certainly never been - in the 10 years of Xoho's operation - our policy to have items consistently unavailable on our menus.
As to the service being slow - this is an incredibly busy time of year and we are doing our best to serve the overwhelming amount of people that are crowding daily into our tiny space. If you would be willing to give us another chance please email us at cafe.xoho@gmail.com and we will be happy to host you.
Warm regards,
Team Xoho

Obsessed. Jordan A was so amazing in pointing me in the right direction of all Gluten Free options, so courteous! And her suggestions were in point being gf herself! I will be back next time in TLV! The food was fantastic and the coffee also. Great atmosphere, a bustling local cafe with a community vibe. If you’re gluten free get the gf bread made in house-it’s amazing. Jordan also coaxed me into the last gf cookie and I’m glad she did it was as good as she told me!!

We had a lovely brunch here until the time the check arrived. Food was great (we had the egg bagel and a breakfast burrito). It took some time but we didn’t mind as we were in no rush, the place was full and they even apologised with a cookie. But then: When we were brought the bill, the waitress stated in very clear and undiplomatic terms that she expects a tip of 10 to 20 percent. This is more than unacceptable, especially considering that we spoke Hebrew with them (we’re not perfect in it, but yet they should have noticed that we know our way around in Israel). Telling from other reviews, this doesn’t seem to have been a one-off incident but rather company policy. So I’m sorry having to conclude that this is just a rip-off place.

Hi Kr0elle,
Thank you for taking the time to review us. We were so sorry to hear that the waitress offended you at the end of your meal. It sounds like she was unable to put the point across in a pleasant way. In the past visitors often did not know that tipping is common in Israel - and waitresses across the board were missing out on a large part of their earnings (not just at our cafe). However there is a way to say it, and it certainly should not be in a demanding tone as you described.
We will certainly look into this at our upcoming staff meeting - it is not that it is our company policy, but rather that many tourists simply do not know to tip in Israel.
If you would be willing to give us another chance and enjoy the good vibes and home-made brunch experience that we are known for, please email us at cafe.xoho@gmail.com and we would be happy to host you.
Warm regards and happy holidays,
Team Xoho

The Xoho cafe is on Ben Yehuda Street in Tel Aviv. We ate there on Friday morning August 23 2024. The service was terrible. When we paid we were asked if we wanted to leave a tip and we declined. After all the service was not good and a tip is voluntary. Before we left the manager came and told us that if we did not want to leave a tip we should order take away and not sit down. Why? does the cafe not pay the waiters? If so that is actually illegal. Do they take the wages out of the tips? Also not moral. As for the manager, if one of my staff were to reprimand a customer like that I would fire him on the spot.
On the bill it said “Service not included”. It even had a guide for suggested percentage tips. This was correct the service was not included and was poor and the manager rude .

Even if you're vegan or not (I belong to the second type)... it's really worth trying the vegan shawarma roll on XOHO's evening menu.
It turns out that it's made of... sunflower seeds, but there's no way you'd guess that. An explosion of fine flavors with authentic seasoning that just makes you happy.
To finish I took the hibiscus tea which is also simply gorgeous.
Maybe I'm biased (and I'm not) but XOHO coffee
It is the only place I enjoy returning to time and time again.

Super friendly staff and amazing food. Once we did breakfast takeaway - the bagel sandwich was so yummy and the muffin super moist and delicious. Second time we decided to dine is for breakfast as well and had the amazing breakfast burrito and the pancakes which were superb.

Food is average. Service is terrible and takes more than half an hour to get coffees and a piece of cake. When we did not leave a tip we were asked by
the manager not to come ever again. Very rude

Hi Mike,
We were very sorry to hear about your experience at the Cafe. As you can see from other reviews about our little spot, service is important to us and we usually succeed, and even excel.
In the last few weeks, in the face of under-staffing and an overwhelming amount of summer business, it has been challenging to do the excellent job that we are accustomed to.
Currently, we are working hard to build systems to meet the demand in a more effective way. As to the way the manager spoke to you, this will be dealt with swiftly.
If you would be willing to give us another chance please email us at cafe.xoho@gmail.com
Warmest regards and apologies again,
Team Xoho

Since we live in Bahrain, the food cost is comparatively high in Israel. Tour operators should take to places that have reasonable pricing.
