Daughter had heckle this back for our last night as a special treat but we were disappointed and all felt this was least satisfying dinner of the trip. We were downstairs so not in the cut off upper room noticed when using the cloakroom before leaving s to ht was good. The place was also busy na had a good vibe about it. But the food did not live up to expectations. The gimmick of serving most dishes on to the brown paper table cloths and not giving anyone cutlery unless you asked for it was just silly. It just meant a messy table top and sticky fingers until were got cutlery and some food was not finger appropriate. The usual sharing dishes but not a patch on some of the other places we experienced on our trip. The large broccoli and cauliflower dishes were okay but overpriced compared to similar we had eaten elsewhere in the city. Special note of the hanger steak which was too undercooked and too chewy to enjoy and worst of all the lamb chops dish - presume they gave the meat to someone else as our portion seemed to consist mainly of lamb fat. Looked like a nice place for a night out seated at the bar but cannot recommend for a good evening meal,

This place is known as one of the top trendy places to eat at, in Tel Aviv. I’ve seen in it on 3 major sites for Tel Aviv travel, and since it was taking too long to get an order in at the burger spot next door, I looked online, found the info I just noted and was happy that I was standing in front of a top restaurant by chance. The ambience is my kind of flow, tight crowd and you’re certainly going to end up getting a conversation going with someone. Had some great conversations while there. I heard that the steak was the thing to get so I definitely had to have their steak and salad. Perfect! I will add that you need to be aware that there are no plates. I ate that steak off of the chopping board. I have my new favorite spot on Lilienblum! Expect some pricey meals but it’s just off of Rothschild so you should expect this.

Disappointing. We were 3 of us and I had great expectations.
The starters and main dishes arrive randomly- ie the potatoes arrived before the starters. The main meal was ok- my lamb chops were mainly fat, the other 2 were ok.
What really annoyed me is the fact that you cant have tea with a teabag or coffee with milk. Its such a pose.
Then we were told 3 times in 5 minutes- you need to go, we need the table.
It all left a bad taste. There was a big queue outside.. very much the emperors new clothes..

We came to the restaurant greeted and seated by the host
We got a dirty menu but the food options were look nice so.we stayed and ordered drinks
When we tried to order the dishes it came out that more than half of the dishes are missing...no body tried to warn us before
The dishes we ordered came cold and without a taste
Everything comes with cremefresh and horse radish..
When we asked the waiter why it's like this we got the answer that's it is "One Time Experience"
Indeed it is
The prices are crazy
The place is dirty and you get no plates and in general Zero Service
So bad that we didn't leave tip
Stay far from this One time tourists trap

This is not the first time I’ve visited this restaurant. Always had a good experience with it. BUT THIS TIME WAS CATASTROPHIC.
1) we were promised to get large shrimps, instead we got tiny ones non cleaned and impossible to eat.
2) we ordered a Grilled Fillet steak an instead we received chopped fillet pieces in cold tomato sauce, inedible.
3) we asked for some sort of side dish and we were told that they do not serve that kind dishes !!!!!
We reserved our table at 19:00 and by 20:00 we were already out.
The service was bare able and in order to please us or better to compensate they give us two desert dishes which also were very mediocre.
I will have to try very hard to go again to this restaurant and probably will not.

Ottolenghi is my favourite chef. His food is incredible, his restaurants are fantastic. We read that this place is one of YO’s favourites in Tel Aviv.
It’s literally a gastronomic representation of The Emperors New Clothes.
1) they’ve not bothered to translate the English menu properly, none of it makes sense (it’s in Comic Sans aptly)
2) we ordered the bread salad from the short bread section at the top (which also contains a dish thy does not feature bread) - this dish ended up arriving 35 mins after the steak as a desert. It was burnt and oily as a mechanic hanky.
3) £13 for a baked potato with sour cream. Why is a baker potato with salad cream on the menu?
4) best dish was the green beans that were lemony. But it was like £13 for some green beans
5) gin and cucumber cocktail was one shot of beefeater gin and half a cucumber - £15. Crrrrap.
6) orderEd a glass of wine. 20 mins later no wine. Told waitress. She said it’s very sweet so I should taste it first. Waited 15 mins for the taster but had finished meal yonks ago so sacked it off.
7) this is where the bread salad arrives. Burnt toast covered in all and salt, with a load of tomatoes, at least 45mins after we ordered it ages since we finished the penultimate dish.
8) completely useless staff. When I complained she shrugged and Smirked. She was shocked when we said we don’t want the tomato salad and want the bill and even more shocked when we said we don’t want to pay service.
9) I complained to the manager as we were walking off after paying. She said “wait here I want to make it up to you” I thought she was going to refund us as it was truly and awful experience but insured she said she wanted to give us a spoon full of chocolate mouse each. We got the hell out of there. GO TO DALIDA it’s a million times better. Last night of our (amazing) trip tainted by a bunch of moody waitresses serving rubbish food in a terrible Tel Aviv “restaurant”.

This is by far one of the biggest scans I’ve ever been victim of (or partaken in, depends on the POV). The prices are *absurd* for the tiny portion and awful quality of the dishes. Ordered 4 dishes:
1) some boiled spinach with frozen peas served with terrible grated Parmesan cheese
2) some garlic infused peas, not with the 50 ILS they cost
3) two glasses of Shiraz, 63 ILS each. Thanks but no thanks.
4) some poor deep fried crab
5) cherry on top, some bread with creme freche which successfully ruined my stomach for 12 hours.
DO. NOT. GO. I am all for paying good quality food but this is a scam. Total price was 465 ILS, 130 euros for NOTHING. Not even dessert. 3 veggie dishes, 1 crab dish + 2 glasses of wine. If you can’t do the math by yourself maybe you do deserve to get scammed by this place.

We had a 7.30pm reservation at the restaurant on a Friday night and got offered a table outside or at the bar. We choose to sit at the bar and it was wonderful. The staff were friendly and full of character. They gave advice on the menu and were good fun to talk to. The food was incredible. I loved watching all the staff in the kitchen and at the bar work so well together. The restaurant had a great music playing which added to the atmosphere. All the people sitting at the bar seemed to be having a wonderful evening. At one point the waitress offered everyone sitting at the bar a free shot and we all did them together (including the waitress). We left the restaurant after 11pm having enjoyed scintillating conversation with those sitting next to us and very tasty food. This is one the best restaurants I've ever been to. I love it's vibe. I also felt that I had good value for money. Tel Aviv is not a cheap place to eat. This place has soul and character. I can't wait to come back again.

The food is excellent. Wonderful selection of vegetables. It's overpriced. Very. The style is kind of like a picnic (no plates, served on cardboard, overly casual staff). It's more grungy than upscale. But the prices are not street food prices! Recommend the cauliflower, broccoli, and dark chocolate cake.

My friends invited me to have here lunch lately and I enjoyed it a lot!
Interesting concept, some of dishes came wraped by paper or served on paper. Good choice for vegetarians. The food was very tasty, got out quickly from the kitchen and were well served. Good wine list, reasonable prices, nice service.
Inside and outside tables. We'll be definatly back! Enjoy!

1 year later and i’m still regularly thinking of my visit to this restaurant.
My girlfriend were in Tel Aviv for about 5 days and had a very tight itinerary with a big focus on food. The first restaurant was North Abraxas and it blew our mind.
We were seated at the bar which happens to be my favorite spot. For that reason that it’s very interactive. The staff was really nice and as we didn’t even know who Eyal Shani was or what the restaurant served we asked for the people behind the bar and in the kitchen what to eat. Please do this, because what I had there was perhaps the best food I have ever had. Throughout the night we received a lot of complimentary stuff and by the end we decided to change everything or at least most of our tour to Eyal Shani restaurants with 2 stops at Abraxas and with no regret. I’m craving to come back

With no idea that it was such a highly regarded restaurant, I poked my head into North Abraxos while searching for a place to eat on a very busy Saturday night after arriving in Tel Aviv, as it was just around the corner from my hotel. As luck would have it they had one place free for me to squeeze into at the crowded bar.
On the recommendation of the friendly serving staff I had the deconstructed shawarma, roasted cauliflower and a glass of Spanish red wine. It was all very tasty, although the unreconstructed shawarma I had at a fast food joint in Jaffa the following day was better - some basic foods just can't be improved upon.
This is clearly a destination restaurant, and everybody around me seemed to be enjoying their food and having a great time.
My bill came to about NIS270, or around USD65.

What a disappointment. The chef is highly capable, the place used to be amazing, but had deteriorated into a presumptuous, mediocre and to be honest... Not good restaurant. The food is not served but thrown on the table, covering this lack of service with a 'pose' which is totally fake.
We had 8 dishes, 1 was great (the beetroot), and the rest were mediocre at best. Price was ok for what we had.

The food is very good, prime choice ingredients, everything is fresh and it is really a great place IF you’re sitting downstairs or by the bar.
Upstairs is sad, boiling hot and really noisy.
Next time I won’t go unless the table is downstairs

This restaurant sure turned for the worst since I was last here. The service was just terrible, starting with the hostess that says you’re the next in line for a table and then sits several other people without reservation. The waiters seemed not interested in the guests at all. And the food…Well, it was boring and easy forgettable. I love Eyal Shani food, bit this is certainly the worst one of his Tel Aviv restaurants. Just don’t bother. Save your time and money for something more worthwhile.
