Shila was recommended by the concierge at our hotel. When we walked in we immediately recognized it as the restaurant we loved 13 years earlier when the concierge had obtained a reservation at the bar for us. Still exciting atmosphere, excellent service, and delicious food. For appetizers/starters, we recommend Calamari Nero, Sea fish tartare wrapped in avocado, and the Iron salad. Yummy and beautiful presentation. The Sea fish fillet was excellent as a main.

Food excellent, service medioker. Really annoying that the waiter publicly asks how much tip the host is going to pay and that you cannot add the tip yourself on the card reader. Bad also that the waiter points at the receipt which has ”instruktions” on how to tip; 12% for good service - 18% for excellent service when the host asks if it is possible to add a fixed amount. We had a USD 600 lunch for 4 persons and I don’t see that us eating expensive automatically skall result in more tip to the waiter. Stupid system which also is embarrasing for the guests.

The 11th time we came to Shiloh, this time as a couple, after almost a year of not visiting, the service was beyond shocking. My partner is a chef, and I am a girl who simply loves and appreciates good food.
First, there was no attitude towards us at all (when there are 3 waiters outside) at the end-
We ordered a bottle of wine, but as soon as we looked at the wines on the menu and were already closed on what we wanted to order, the waitress didn't let us say a word and already sent the poor sommelier who herself doesn't know much about wine, and you see that she was clearly instructed to sell only expensive bottles.
By the way, we didn't order cheap wine, price is not a factor, knowledge is.
And now to the waiters. It seemed that before they came to our table, they smoked a few joints before - because they probably weren't high.
Apart from reciting what is in the dishes, the waiters do not know much about them.
During the meal, no wine was poured for us, the dishes were disappointing at such a high level (something that had never happened to us before), we sat with full plates on the table and did not eat, while the waiters did not respond. Every about 6 minutes on average they came to us with dishes and drinks that were not ours. We poured ourselves some wine. The drink we ordered did not arrive.
The amazing desserts that Sheila usually has, were disappointing.
We were 3 adjacent tables which were simply disappointing and one of them said that simply after such an experience we probably won't be back.
I have been calling the restaurant for 3 days and they tell me that a manager will get back to me, which probably won't happen.
sad. Just awkward. And by the way, we paid NIS 1000 for the pleasure. Apparently the future of Shiloh after so many years is to close doors. and send unprofessional waiters home.

Hi,
We visited Shila in February with my family.
The service was terrible, terrible, terrible…
The waitress spoke in english as fast as possible, we couldn’t understand her, and she pushed us to order quickly, so that we were annoyed and frustrated.
I had to translate everything but she didn’t care.
She forgot to take my order as well, to finally remenber me.
She was really unpleasant and after taking the order we were in hurry to leave the restaurant…
The room outside is very noisy and they put to many tables for such a small area.
No free bread, or olives or small aperitifs for such a high price restaurant is not at the level of the industry standard.
The food is correct and some dishes are even good, but they have nothing to see with the price requested.
All in all, the service is not good and food is costly for what it is, I don’t recommend.
Chef, you shouldn’t take advantage of the fact that you are « alone » at this level in Tel Aviv. People will remenber it , when you will have a competitor.

Our irritation started when we entered the Shila restaurant. Even though we had reserved a table outside, there was no room left. When we were assigned a table inside, after a few moments they came to tell us that we had to change again to a table for two people that was completely hidden in a corner of the restaurant. However, we refused to move, which was not appreciated by our waitress. When the manager arrived, we pointed to the numerous tables of four around us that were only occupied by two people and asked why these customers had not been seated at the table of two in the corner... Ultimately we were allowed to remain seated . But then it struck us that the dishes we ordered came in such quick succession that we would be back on the street within half an hour. When we made another comment about this, our waitress disappeared and we were served by another. From this we must conclude that the management of this beautiful establishment is only concerned with providing as many seats as possible and filling them again within the shortest time during a second service...
We regret to give a low score, because we have nothing but praise for the food... There is also an interesting drinks menu and a very knowledgeable sommelier. Perfect cocktails!
High prices & small portions!
What was supposed to be a fun evening for us turned into an evening of annoyance.

One of our all time worst dining experiences. No idea how this place is a Michelin level restaurant. Maybe the rating is from 20 years ago. I highly doubt they are this now. From the moment you walk in the door where you are met by leggings and jean clad employees to the waiter with his shirt unbuttoned to this waist and the cheap furniture you start wondering if your in the right place. I was expecting an elegant dining experience and it’s anything but. We never heard the list of specials, didn’t know there were any until after ordering we heard another table getting the list of them. The menu is minimal. I’m allergic to mushrooms and the chef refused to allow me to order the steak without them. So much for customer service. We asked twice for water and never got it. Then we sat for 30 minutes trying to get our check and finally when we couldn’t get anyone’s attention we had to go up front to pay. Our waiter was outside dumping trash. Front hostess was extremely rude and there was zero apology for the terrible service. Paid $2800 shekels for an Applebees level experience. I’m sure Tel Aviv has much nicer dining options, we will certainly be looking for them.

This restaurant charges Michelin-star prices and provides below-average food and service that one could not dare to deliver to a dog. The staff seemed utterly unprepared, and we were especially served by someone who had no clue what she was talking about. Be prepared for a menu with some dishes without prices and then expect a little surprise at the end. Where do you see that in the world? Only in a circus full of clowns.
Maybe that's why there is no Michelin-star restaurant in the city. Apparently, restaurants here play with the customers money. Eat humus at the market and do not step in this place. Waste of time and money.

too expensive for what you get. service not pleasant.
food is good. much too overpriced. spaghettini, sticky and too heavy sauce at 150 nis... the waitress was not friendly. After choosing our portions, all which we have selected from the menu she said with a grim face that they do no serve them today.. Could have said it from the beginning.
we asked to have a pause before the main course. she ignored our request without an explanation and brought the food with the starter.
We will NOT return to this establishment. Not recommended! Much too expensive for what you get. in addition the unpleasant waitress spoiled the atmosphere.

The food was delicious! We shared 4 starters ( focacia, salad, fish carpaccio, and beef carpaccio) between the four of us and then had various main courses. The staff were extremely friendly.
Two points of critique: 1) two of the main dishes arrived 20 minutes after the first two. I assume this is due to the staff shortage that all restaurants experience in Europe and Israel. But I had not expected it at this high- end retauramt.
2) my husband had to ask 4 times for a beer before actually receiving it.

Went for our 2 year wedding anniversary and we were really disappointed. Having spent over 800 shekels you would think that we should have received the best service and most amazing food. We sat at the bar and the the girl serving us was more interested in hanging with her friends who were also dining at the bar. The food was not to a standard that you would expect at a “fine dining” restaurant. We sent one dish back that was drowning in oil and most dishes lacked seasoning, and with the last dish the fish was bone dry. We were really looking forward to trying this restaurant that we had heard so much about. We will not be returning.. there are far better restaurants on that level in Tel Aviv.

We were prepared for chef-quality food, but in the end left with a bad taste in our mouths (literally). We ordered two starters - tartar wrapped in avocado, and red tuna carpaccio. The tartar was OK but not amazing. The capaccio was interesting but bitter for some reason. After that, the beef and gnocchi was also bitter! 4 small pieces of beef with gnochi, and for some reason burned corn. For dessert, we played it safe with the creme brulee, which was also too burned and bitter. Burned and bitter was the culinary theme of the evening.
We would have said something while there, but none of the waitresses bothered to ask. We were tired and hungry so ate most of it anyway, paid, and left quietly. It was the low-light of our vacation.

We came for dinner. And both the starters, both the mains and the desserts were excellent. There wasn't one thing we ordered that was delicious, but the dishes we had the most delicious were for starters the tuna tartar in avocado for mains all the dishes with seafood and the desserts were all good but we liked the cheesecake and the tiramisu the most. The place is not very suitable for children, but they also have children's dishes such as pasta in sauce and steak with mashed potatoes. It's true that the place is very expensive, but it was a luxurious experience and not something that happens every day. In conclusion, it was an excellent experience and everything was very tasty.

We came here based on this restaurant's outstanding reputation (several people had independently recommended it to us), and while the overall experience was really good, it wasn't all well-deserved. Firstly, note that this is primarily a (non-kosher) seafood restaurant, so if you keep kosher, this restaurant is not for you. The dishes were unique and delicious (try the leek pastry and the beefsteak with gnocchi and mushrooms), although everything was pretty expensive, even for Tel Aviv standards. It has a hip ambiance and friendly staff, even when it's crowded.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at shila. We eat at shila every time we come to Israel and it never disappoints ! The tuna tartare wrapped in avocado was a highlight of the meal. Don’t miss this great restaurant
