Interesting menu but neither the food nor the service lived up to our expectations. We made a Sat night reservation at 7:30 for this kosher place but in reality they weren't ready to serve a meal until something like 8:00 or 8:15. The food was OK but not anything to write home about.

They let us sit for over 10 minutes even without the menus while waiters milled around until I complained to the manager and the owner. That set the tone for the evening. The meat dishes were good, but the wines too expensive.

The location is special in First Station. When the weather is good, the station hosts all kinds of activities making it a fun place to spend an evening after eating. Lehem Basar is a meat restaurant with very good certification. The menu is a little limited, but the food was good and portions are decent. The price was a little steep, but meat in Israel is expensive. Call to book, without a reservation you may not get a table. Bar service was adequate, wine selection was pretty decent. Overall, a good experience.

We sat down to eat there and waited in line like good children for two hours, about 12 people. We ordered the dishes 30 hours after we ordered the dishes, they remembered to tell us that half of the dishes we ordered were not available and that we had to change the order.. We changed the order, after 20 minutes food arrived for 4 people out of the 12 and we are watching them eat the entire bill, the kids are losing patience. Asking what about the food, we were told exactly how many minutes there is pressure and it's up to 40 minutes (even though at this point we waited 40 minutes). The food in the meantime came to about NIS 180 per dish, the food was cold and the side dishes were not cold, not lukewarm, they were frozen. We called them and told them it was frozen, they called the manager and the manager apologized and said they were fixing it. We waited for almost an hour and a half, one app didn't fix it and all the food on the remaining 7 dishes didn't arrive except for the burger we ordered medium and we got dry and tasteless charcoal. The manager came again and promised that the food would arrive in two minutes and that he would compensate us. In the end neither forest nor bears arrived, of course after a horrible two hour experience we canceled the dishes, terrible. Do you think that the dishes that arrived cold did they lower the price or something like that? Definately not ! For 4 or 5 dishes, a bill of NIS 1200 came out, food that I would not pay for creates weight per dish. It's my first time writing a review, but it crossed all limits, I don't recommend the restaurant to anyone and don't go near there. Just horrible food and treated. With maximum disdain for customers. Hope I helped

The special prime steak we ordered was dried, tasteless, and some of it was completely uneatable. When we first noticed that the portion looked much less than 500 grams, they argued with us. After we had a very unpleasant eating experience, the suggestion to bring another portion of the steak was ridiculous. The last portion we got at the house was not pizza for a very expensive and shameful main portion of poor quality.

Do not waste your time or money. Waiter dropped half the plates on the table because he was trying to balance 4 full plates at one time . When they came back with the food after re cooking, they, despite being told that my daughter is celiac and is gluten allergic (in Hebrew) put my daughter’s protein on top of French fries that were cooked in oil that also cooked gluten items. They said that they would just change out the French fries for rice. Didn’t even offer to comp for a portion of the meal

First the good things. The service was great throughout the evening. The chairs (we sat in the inner room were very comfortable. (an issue for people with back problems) The appetizers were good. I shared a generous portion of the sautéed mushrooms with my cousin. My husband had the white fish tartar. He said it was very tasty and suitable for one person as an appetizer. It was down hill from there. 3 of us ordered entrecote. Rare, medium rare and medium. All 3 of us agreed that the meat was tough. Very disappointing. The meat was expensive, and we were expecting a superior product. It wasn’t. My husband’s rare piece tasted like it was reheated and wasn’t it wasn’t rare. He says it is one of the worst pieces of meat he has had in years, and we live in Israel, so he was comparing it to other Israeli restaurants. I wouldn’t go back there again for the steak which is as the name of the restaurant says is the main part of the menu.

The meal was absolutely delicious. We shared homemade focaccia bread - with fresh vegetables on top- which puts to shame focaccia bread I've had in the US, and I had salmon with haricots Verde with tomato and onions. Both were outstanding. A visit to the converted First Station is a treat.Go!

I have been to Lechem Basar over the years and today was the best experience ever. A college friend was visiting Israel for the first time and we were able to get her away from a jam-packed schedule for only a few hours. We met on the Mount of Olives and went directly to First Station and chose Lechem Basar because of its Buiness Lunch. We settled into our comfortable banquette seats and let our charming waiter Shai take care of us! The starters alone were a meal. The colorful tahina/eggplant tray was great with foccacia! My steak was delicious and well seasoned, my wife's salmon outstanding and our visitor's araye savory. We quenched our thirst with Israeki beer. The food, service and ambience made it a great experience!

We have eaten at this restaurant previously and returned to be somewhat underwhelmed. The restaurant itself seemed a bit shabby and the food we ordered was dry and lack lustre. The staff seemed run off their feet and service was not the best. They may need to pull up their socks!

Enjoyed a nice evening out with friends while visiting Jerusalem. We were able to walk to the restaurant from our hotel. The complex at the old train station was an active spot with smaller restaurants and kiosk food and it was an active spot. There were several different steaks featured on the menu and several in our group ordered that. There were also salad and vegetable options available. The food was great as well as the service.

We went out to eat some tasty and professional recipes....but so disappointed , servers are nice but not help to hide chef's lack of expertise... I paid a lot 600 $ to receive ordinary dishes!!!! not worth the money we won't come back that's for sure

Service was good. Other than that: Noisy, bad music, tiny and not-too-clean bathrooms. Miniscule selection of beers, salad wasn't fresh, main dish was mediocre at best, and we left hungry. Not planning on going back.

We ate at the Tel Aviv branch a while ago and loved it. This branch did not disappoint. Great food, good atmosphere. The restaurant is STRICTLY kosher and therefore the fillet is VERY salty. The entrecote on the other hand is very good. For the 1st course, the mushrooms are to die for and so is the carpaccio.

Been there with my wife the day before yesterday. My wife had kind of a bread stuffed with minced meat and I had ceviche with raw fish and aubergine with tehina. The food was excellent, perfectly cooked, and the chef's talent undeniable. The restaurant can be found at the Old Train Station (Mitham aTahana) in Jerusalem's German Colony.
