If you want to pay $15 for a very basic small plate of hummus and 3 pieces of falafel then come here . I only came here since I took a walking tour and the guide recommend it ( they have a business arrangement ).... The two guys working there are literally depressed and need to open a mortuary instead of a restaurant . They were the opposite of what typical middle eastern hospitality I find to be . Super dry . The food was very basic by all means , even to a tourist .as dry as the owners . I have had hummus and falafel all over and this is the most basic I have had . Just something to fill up your stomach with . But to pay 54 Shekels or $15 dollars for what you can get tastier for a 1/4 the price elsewhere in Jerusalem , and given the attitude of the owners , I highly recommend you walk an extra coupe of minutes and try other restaurants out there . When it was time to pay the guy pretended to forget about the tour discount referral coupon that was shown to him when ordering and I had to remind him . Just do yourself a favor and go elsewhere , or maybe just drop these guys a couple of Prozac pills if you want to be nice !More
We visited here at least 4 times while in Jerusalem. We just couldn't get enough of their hummus with toasted pine nuts on top! Amazing!!! Falafels were crispy and delicious!
The staff/owners were friendly but also left you alone to just eat, chat and hang...out in their restaurant.
With big glass windows across the front of the restaurant there is plenty of light and you can watch people, cats and cars go and up and down the lane/road.
The restaurant often filled up quickly and then emptied out again with everyone eating and then going on their way. Its a great place to get away from the busyness of the tourist areas but so close to Jaffa gate in the old city.
You could grab a take away or sit and eat then carry on with your touring. The food is delicious and fresh and good value for money.
Definitely try the hummus and the falafels. AND the lemonade with fresh mint!More
Not impressed by their Shakshuka. Tastes like tomato sauce from chef boyardee from a can. The they started washing the floors with string chemicals in the middle of our meal right next to us. Wish we had gone somewhere more home made style.
Sit in a comfortable and relaxing space in the heart of the old city and enjoy the delicious local dishes at very reasonable prices. There is quite a wide variety to choose from, all freshly prepared. We particularly enjoyed the hummous with minced meat on top.Even my 11...year-old who can be difficult with this type of food, cleaned up his plate.More
Tala Hummus is clean and bright with nice bathrooms and WiFi. Great to find a place on Saturday when much is closed. Friendly service and delicious food. It was a great recommendation by our guide, Gary.
This restaurant was suggested after the free walking tour. We gave it a try and didn't regret it. The hummus and falafel were amazing and one of the best I had in Israel. The setting is quite simple but the food makes up everything.
I consulted my pictures from the place, but I couldn't find any opening hours... So I checked their web site instead... ;-) They are open 10:00 am to 10:00 pm all days of the week.
