We visited on the eve of the Succot holiday when families were shopping for the holiday. It was packed with people and exotic smells of spices, fruit ripening, and meat roasting. A real local scene and well worth the visit if you can tolerate crowds.

Visited again this restaurant in the heart of Jerusalem. My favorite one still. Always busy, always great. The food the service the people. Book in advance to enjoy to the full. Can't wait to try the sister restaurants in London.

Good food. Good service. Noisy and bussy. Polenta is great. The risotto too. Didn't like the market atmosphere, though.

This place is popping with energy! The Waiter brought some fresh bread with a bowl of Tahini while we made our selections. The food is presented very well. For example, the chicken souvlaki came on a metal skewer that was straight up in the air, as if it was your own mini shawarma pole. I ordered a starter called Shikshukit... More

Don't get me wrong... we're talking about a great place. Good food and mostly cool atmosphere. Its not easy to reserve a table but you're up for a treat. So... why 4/5? Well... it feels more like a gimic than the real thing. I have visited this place several times and always got to this conclusion. I actually prefer its... More

A nice restaurant with modern renditions of finish food from the middle East. The noise is part of the charm, I guess? In terms of cost - benefit, the restaurant is expensive.

We came to celebrate our wedding and were highly disappointed. This must be an example of a restaurant where fame has gone to their head. The food was expensive, the service indifferent to any request and the food was good but definitely not great. We called to ahead of time to make sure that there were enough vegetarian options and... We love Palomar in London so wanted to visit its inspiration in Jerusalem - and we weren't disappointed with Machneyuda. Even with an early reservation we arrived to a buzzing restaurant, and sat at the bar which is fun. The crowd is cool, the servers are cool, the music is cool. If you love modern Israeli food you will want... More

Interesting and authentic food, "like a market" atmosphere will make you have a great time there. It is very recommended to reserve a table in advance, otherwise you depend on your luck or you may sit on the bar, which is fine also. Don't hesitate to ask the waiter about the portions, since they are titled very tricky in the... More
