We went to the restaurant for lunch. The lunch menu lists a business lunch for 69 NIS (about $ 20) that includes a soup or salad, two skewers or portions of meat and two sides. My wife isn't that big an eater so the restaurant agreed that she could order a child's portion for 49 NIS that included a salad, one meat and one side dish. The meats available on the business lunch are, of course, the lower priced ones off the regular menu. I chose chicken lives and kebab and both were among the best of these that I have ever had. The kebabs, in particular, were free of the gristle that one often sees in kebabs here, as well as being nicely spiced. The livers were great. Add a bowl of bean soup. Fries were pretty good too. My wife's pargit (chicken thigh) was also tasty. Yehudit herself was cooking efficiently and smoothly. Service was fine.

You sit down and they immediately bring 8-10 different types of salad which was good for my friend as he loves that and they refreshed them when the plate was empty. The service was efficient and the main courses were tasty. A nice place to eat with good food and it wasn't too noisy which meant we could converse without shouting.

Found this accidentally and the people sitting outside were clearly enjoying what looked like delicious food so we went in! The 12 salads and fresh bread were simply outstanding and delicious! Main courses were equally good and the girls serving spoke fluent English and were so kind. A return is definitely happening!

My friend and I arrived around 5 after a long day of walking around Jerusalem. Probably because of the early hour, we were the only ones there. There were about 5-6 employees, two waitresses. I speak Hebrew but my friend doesn’t, and neither of us were familiar with a few of the dishes on the menu. When we asked the waitress about them, she responded curtly, like this: Me: “Excuse me, can you tell us what X dish is?” Waitress: “What? What are you talking about? X dish is X dish.” Just like that. She brought us cups for water but didn’t bring the actual water until about 15 minutes after we asked for it. We felt better one our kebabs came out because they were DELICIOUS. The best service you get at this place is from the guy behind the grill. The laffa was good too, and there were plenty of complimentary salads as well. The food itself was great and almost made up for our terrible service experience. ALMOST. At the end of the meal, I went up and asked the waitress for the check. She ignored me, then gave me a snide look, and then never brought the check. We waited around 20 minutes. New customers came in and she started serving them. Only once I asked a different employee for the check did he bring it. Overall, I would come back again for the food, but honestly, I’d probably try to find a different grill in Machane Yehuda first. Good food just isn’t worth getting punished by your waitress.

Authentic, delicious, middle eastern cuisine served with laffa straight from a woodburning stove. Yehudit, the owner is often present to insure quality cuisine and service.

The Jerusalem mixed-grill (meorav yerushalmi) was very good. However, the table salads, laffa, and chips were disappointing. Won't be rushing back.

Remember this place from many years back. It has a new owner but the quality is still good. The salads and the meat were all fresh and tasty

Visited with my wife after a very tiring day of walks around the old city. The staff was friendly and courteous, the food amazing. My wife is vegetarian and had to go with two "starters" rather than a main, but we found out that the starters are as big as a regular main dish. All in all, lovely service, great food and giant portions, in the middle of a marvellous street market - at very reasonable prices by Jerusalem standards.

Old world good Israeli food in a new clean setting. If you like kebab, pargiot, rice and yummy soups, this is your place. Loved the fried cauliflower. The portions are huge. The tabun bread is excellent. Def coming back.

I remembered much better days for the place. The service was bad, slow and surly, the food was bad and horribly expensive, the pita in Tabon was hot and fresh and that was the only thing that tasted good about the meal. We will not recommend and will not return.
