Haifa’s hidden gem! An amazing meal, some of the best desserts I’ve ever had, and sitting out on the porch with the plants and trees gave us a great scenery away from the noise of Haifa. Service was helpful. We don’t speak Hebrew and they immediately assigned a waitress who spoke perfect English. This was the tastiest and favorite of the beaten path restaurant we hit in Haifa. If you don’t try it when in Haifa you’re missing out

Lately we had here the breakfast and was bit disappointed. The choices for breakfast is limited, were lots of dishes missing from the menu. Nice service, but slow, even the place wasn't so busy. Very nice sittings in the garden outside. They has a good choice of cakes, quiches and other pastries to buy as a take away. Bought some of them home and it was delishes.

Decent food, horrendous service It's sad because you can tell that someone cares about the quality of the food at this place. It would be nice if they also cared about the customers. I'm not some spoiled American. I've lived here for 20 years and I'm used to Israeli service. This was, with no exaggeration, one of the worst experiences I've ever had in my 2 decades in this country. After 20 minutes without being helped or even given a menu, I started searching for another cafe nearby when the waiter finally gave us a menu. He warned my wife that he probably didn't have what she ordered. In the end, he didn't have what I ordered. It took a total of 40 minutes to get a pastry and coffee. I had a train to catch, so I eventually gave up on the waiter and went to the front to pay so I could finally escape. Then they start asking if I had my temperature checked when I came in. They didn't even realize I had been sitting there for 40 minutes. They thought we just walked in. I said, "I'm trying to pay and get out, not in." The manager made some asinine remark and finally rang me up. The pastry was decent though. If you want the pastry, just get it to go. Unless of course, you enjoy being ignored and insulted.

On my visit with my friend on October 28, 2021 very early in the morning, at 9:30 AM we ordered breakfast, waiting for the almond danish. Going to the restroom, I was shocked by the view of the entire restroom picture, indicating that it was not clean for a long time. I did call a few time later to talk to the owner and explain my disapointment with this situation, but no one at the bakery did let me talk to him. Finally, I decided to go personally and talk to him, in a very positive and constructive way, to improve this unacceptable hygienic danger for the customers health and I met the owner, Gal yesterday November 09, 2021. His reaction was absolutely arrogant and impulsive with the following reaction: GET LOST !!! I will recommend Gal Bakery customers to check first the hygiene of the restroom and order their breakfast, if they consider that the place is clean enough !!

When you walk into Gal’s Bakery you are overcome by the aroma of pastry. It’s almost enough just to breathe the air! But over the course of several visits we have experienced long lines and waits, plus the slowest service imaginable. To the extent that it really detracts from the overall experience. The water is self-serve (and the cooler was empty the entire time we were there, despite the server noticing its emptiness at the beginning), and the restroom is inconvenient as well. Definitely consider having your pastries takeaway.

It is rare to come across a group of waiters who lacks any feel for service. I was waiting by the door to be seated for ages without anyone paying any attention. Throughout the meal the waiters were unkind, never smiled and gave the impression that the customer is simply a burden. The choice of a comprehensive breakfast was limited to only Shakshuka. very disappointing

Six of us visited yesterday for breakfast. It’s a really lovely setting with a varied menu. The server we had kept leaning over us to bring food and drinks to our table (obviously not trained). She tipped a hot chocolate over splattering us all and the children. Not one word of apology from her! One of our party (who is local to the area) asked the owner for one of the staff T-shirts to wear as her top was soaked through. He refused and he also told us that it was all our fault (despite not being present) and that no apology would be given! What a response! Can you imagine working for a man like that, let alone giving him your business. I can’t, and won’t. This is what happens when a potentially great place is managed by the wrong person. There are plenty of other bakeries in the area who deserve your business more.

Food was delicious! Shakshuka was one of the more expensive items on the menu but it included a plentiful side salad and a loaf of bread that could feed 3. Not knowing this we started with pastries, mine savory (cheese and zaatar croissant) and my husband's sweet (chocolate and pistachio croissant). Coffee was good too - all variations on espresso and our cappuccinos came with 2 separate designs on top. Beautiful garden - a bit noisy due to the industrial strength fans providing a cooling breeze. Even at breakfast I found this a good trade off.

The moment we entered the bakery we were shouted that the place is full and if you are looking for a table "we should leave, and now". Despite this attitude, i asked to reserve a table for later, and the answer was "wait outside Gal will come in a moment" Needless to say that no one came and no one intended to come. This was unbelievably rude

We told the waiter about our food restrictions and he disrespected that. When we spoke with the owner he had a very aggressive and unwelcoming manner. This is exactly the type of behavior that is ruining the middle east for me. Do yourself a favor and walk a bit down to find a coffee house near the view.

The service is very slow, waiting 20 minutes for a cup of coffee. Waiters do not approach the tables. It's a shame because the pastries are excellent. I don't want to go back. This is not the only time I have come across this service there.

We stopped by this great Cafe for coffee and nosh. The pastries were fabulous and the atmosphere was so relaxed we read for quite some time. We will probably visit for a second time for breakfast!! Must stop by during your Haifa travels.

Pastries are fantastic but the service is terrible. An omelette was an embarrassment and other items had a poor showing. Good for ordering food for takeaway but don’t bother sitting down.

*עברית אחרי אנגלית* Well the title sums our last disappointing experience in Gal's bakery. Took a friend who came from Tel Aviv to Gal's bakery since it's considered to be one of the best bakeries in Haifa. Got the food and then... a long strand of hair was found in one of the pastries right in front of the waitress who started giggling but a minute later came to ask if we would like to replace it (Should you really ask?!). Then she said there were no more pastries and suggested we'll take the quiche (13 shekels more than what we've originally ordered). we agreed. then another strand of hair was found in the quiche of our guest from Tel Aviv. At this point we were already disgusted by everything and asked for the check. It appeared that they charged us the full amount, including the more expensive quiche. We called the waitress and told her it is unreasonable to charge us for it after the meal we just had. she went to see with the manager what can they do and came back saying all they can offer is a cup of tea or coffee. we refused and paid the full sum, even left a nice tip (not the waitress fault) but they defiantly lost us as costumers, and that's too bad, because as residents of Haifa, we actually used to go there. I don't know what's going on with their management but the place is not as good as it used to be a couple of years back. I even think I have written another review on tripadvisor praising it a couple of years ago. to sum up: IF YOU DONT LIKE TO EAT YOUR FOOD WITH HAIR - AVOID!
