We ordered from Giraffe after not being there for years. We ordered the Sinta (sirloin) noodles (hold the peppers and spices, add vegetables) - and, although the noodles seemed to be spaghetti, the dish was one of the best pasta dishes I have ever had....The noodles were soaked in the smoked meaty flavor of the sirloin, and the dish was delicious. We also ordered the Afghan dish, which came with rice, and was also great. However, the seafood pad thai had a strange smell - only one of us agreed to even taste it before we decided to throw it out due to the smell. The two kids meals (teriyaki noodles with chicken, and chicken strips) were also good.
Although one of the dishes was inedible and immediately thrown out - the two other main dishes were so good, I still recommend this restaurant and give it 4 stars. Just maybe skip the seafood pad thai...More
We were 7 members of the family discovering this place. As it was very unexpected the surprise was even greater when we were warmly welcomed and had a great Asian dinner. This place offers a very wide choice of Asian dishes ranging from Thai to...Japanese ! All dishes were of great quality, presentation and portions are quite large. The team of waiters is very friendly and always looking to help you. You can be seated close to the cooks dealing with the wok !
A very nice place.More
We had a good dinner here---Asian not Mediterranean food. Food is tasty, wait staff are friendly and helpful. I would make a reservation for dinner as it can get busy. Restaurant is noisy but everyone seems to enjoy themselves. Tables are close to each other.
Our small group decided to leave our group tour and wander into town looking for dinner, picked this place from trip advisor reviews and was not disappointed. Food was very good, large portions, great wine and lovely staff!
While in Haifa on business, my taxi driver recommended Giraffe. Great recommendation! Have been here two evenings in a row — last night had Soucy Afghan rice dish (steamed rice with chicken, bacon, leeks, nuts, peppers and soy caramel sauce) and an Israeli Cabernet-merlot blend...(Gamla Nature). The wine was great and the meal fantastic — although I don’t recommend eating the red peppers unless you are a fan of HEAT. It starts out tasting sweet like a bell pepper and then starts a conflagration on your tongue and in your throat.
Tonight I went milder with the same wine and Pad Thai with shrimp. Perfectly constructed and a healthy portion to boot.
While I understand that Asian cuisine may not be your culinary choice when traveling anywhere in the Middle East, it is good for those of us who tend to ‘play it safe’ to know which places work out well!More
