Cafe Shani is a classic restaurant in Haifa. The original branch in the lower part of Haifa has been around forever, offering great classic pastries. The place in Neve Shaanan is nicer to sit in than the original but not as nice as the one in Merkaz Hacarmel. Decent menu and decent service.

We went there for breakfast, the restaurant was half empty. We ordered an Israeli breakfast for two. The waitress forgot to offer fruit juices. The salads, cheeses, etc. and the omelets were all brought together with the coffee. The food was generous but when we were leaving the waitress told us that we are entitled to fruit juices which should... More

Can't say anything bad about the food, but it does not offer anything that can't be bought elsewhere. However, the prices are high and the service is average.

We were a party of five with different likes and dietary concerns, yet each one of us thoroughly loved the food we ordered. The service was incredibly attentive and fast, despite the restaurant being fairly crowded when we arrived. Would definitely go back -Highly recommend it.

Shani is a no-nonsense old-school konditory-cafe. The cheese cake was wonderful but the creamschnidt was out of this world. Highly recommended

If you're seeking decent food & ambiance and great pastries, this is the place for you. Thus, all but the baked items are generally good but not great, as it the service, the ambiance etc. But they really shine when it comes to their specialty--their cakes.

I have a weakness for cakes and pastries, so wherever I am in the world, I try some. I can honestly say that Shani makes the best apple strudel in Israel. It could even compete with the high class Viennese patisseries. The pastry is really thin and the apples inside are flavoured to perfection. Shani is an old establishment and... More
