The family who owns the restaurant are the most fantastic, lovely and helpfull people and they make great food. We were a group staying for at longer time in Bethlehem and we went to Nirvana very often. We always felt the most welcome there. We...also joined the Valentines Party at Nirvana and it was such a great party and so much fun!More

If I could leave 6 stars I would have. Single best decision my sister and I made was to have an early dinner at Nirvana. It's an impressive complex that's clearly been improved year on year by a family who care about making Nirvana the...best it can be. Super comfortable for relaxing, dining and drinks. The food was delicious, with a great range of local and international foods without being overly busy menu. We had the kebab plate and chicken poppers and we enjoyed them so much we had chicken wings as well. Big fan of the local Taybeh beer. Then we were offered homemade baba ganoush they had made for themselves before the two brothers invited us to join them to try their shisha and explain about how the family live and work together and despite the difficulties they do so with love and optimism. Bethlehem is a fascinating place but the first thing I'd do on my return is go back to say hi...and hopefully in spring/summer to take advantage of their great beer garden out back.More

Nirvana is my favorite place in Bethlehem. The food is good and the staff are sweet and welcoming. I spent 3 months in Palestine, where I would like to visit Nirana 2-3 times a week. Precisely because of the food, but also the staff, who...to this day are my really good friends.More

Cozy restaurant with friendly service. Atmospheric outdoor terrace where water pipe is smoked but where people are not bothered by smoke. Tasty food with several vegetarian dishes.

Bethlehem has many restaurants near the main square, but if you want to get away from the crowd, I heartily recommend Nirvana. The owner explained that she chose the name when she was studying yoga. It's an appropriate name - it certainly feels like Nirvana...after lots of walking around the historic city. The family restaurant/cafe has a relaxed and friendly feel. There is a large cool outdoor area, with olive trees and awnings offering shade from the sun. In fact, the owner makes olive oil from the trees, so you enjoy the trees . There is a lot of variety on the menu, all of the food is made thoughtfully and to a high level. It is also extremely good value. Nirvana is near Bethlehem University, so the prices are affordable for students. And need some advice on what to see, why not speak to the son who has written a book on the Christian sites of Israel and Palestinian Territories - it's in arabic - but why not ask if he's in. I highly recommend the restaurant for the generally relaxed, warm welcome. Why not try a shisha - if you aren't familiar with it, don't worry - the family will happily over advice!More
