We went at about 11 one evening - the view up here was stunning! The restaurant opens the window sides so you get a great open air experience. I'd go back but order a beer - we didn't rate any of the 3 cocktails we had sadly. One was really watery, and the margarita tasted really basic, cheap tequila. Didn't... More

Discrete restaurant on the 8th floor rooftop, with stunning views of the Golden Horn, Sea of Marmara and the Bosporus. Despite one or two reviews suggesting that the quality of the food did not match, we found dinner to be excellent and reasonable value. The goats cheese & apple salad was good and the lamb shank delicious, with attentive and... More

Visited Leb-i-Derya whilst on a short break with my boyfriend. We had high expectations for this place due to reviews and pictures we had seen..We were very disappointed! first of all it was a mission to find! It was located down dark looking alleyway in a dodgy looking area, and the building didn't look like it would even have a... More

One of the best restaurants in Istanbul. Everything was 10/10 I can't honestly find a flaw. The menu, service and atmosphere was perfect! Beautiful scenery of Istanbul! This place is soo romantic and I will be returning to have a candle lit dinner with my husband very soon.

The service is decent and the view is extraordinary but be warned: Leb-i Derya is an expensive place. Try it for a drink rather than dinner if you're travelling on a budget.

Food is good, not outstanding for the price. The view is great with modern, funky decor. Staff weren't very friendly! Pricey but great view over the city.

The view is stunning and worth a visit alone. The real kicker is the Negroni, which is a must try. Food is excellent and service very good. Dont miss this place.

My wife and I went there and enjoyed great seats on the terrace which offers fantastic views of the city and the bosphoros and a chilled out vibe...the service was perfect...the food was very good but one of the dishes (chicken taouk) lacked good flavors but the grilled octopus was out of this world!

My partner and I went there for a drink and appetizers, Im surprised that the menu has changed this drastically since I was there couple of years ago. Now that its more of a fusion of Turkish traditional food, I was pleasantly surprised that they mixed traditional tastes with modern techniques. View was -as always- spectecular. Definitely recommend it

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighborhood Profile
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
