The place is near the mosque and atmosphere is great. I really liked the way they serve the food and the white beans tasted so nice.

Vis-a-vis Suleymanie mosque there are 5-6 taverns famous for the white beans. Of course they serve other dishes as well, however all the customers I saw had beans (fasulye). Yummie! Not to be missed! We visited twice in thre days :)

I like that restaurant. If you go to suleymniye mosque, you should taste kurufasulye (baked bean). Taste os good, prices are extremely cheap. ............................

If you wish to taste Turkish traditional "kuru fasulye" (dry beans) as the main dish like Turkish public, this is the place to eat... It's very small, simple, serving fast, family owned business originally established for serving lunch to tradesmen at the district.

The best beans and rice. Ever. No need to say more. Home made, fresh and delicious. Nice surroundings, magical. No beer, though. :)

After touring the Mosque of Suleyman the Magnificent, take time to have a delightful lunch here. Sit outside and enjoy the view of the Mosque. Be sure to have the beans and rice with whatever else you order - they are the best in Istanbul. The wait staff is friendly and helpful.

My wife and our visitor from Canada by way of Hong Kong went shopping in the Grand Bazaar (Kapali carsi--literally "covered market") today. It was a lovely day but dodging the shills in store fronts became a daunting challenge. Apart from the usual and tired "Hi !! How are you? Where are you from?" we heard many calls for leather... AMANIN! ogrencilik zamanimin nadir luks gunlerinde, botanik laboratuarlarina giderken, yeraltindaki fakulte yemekhanesi yerine gittiğimiz küçük ama harika mekan. hem yaz-kış bahçede oturursunuz, hem müthiş lezzetli kuru fasılyeyi yersiniz, turşuyla. ben galiba kuru fasulyeyi orada sevdim. gitmeyeli 10 sene olmuş.

Staying in Grand Bazaar

Neighborhood Profile
Grand Bazaar
Tourists, hawkers, and locals come together at the Grand Bazaar to comb its labyrinthine passageways in search of a bargain – be it a pair of brand name jeans, a handcrafted silk rug, or a perfectly brewed cup of tea. Outside the vast bazaar, worn, narrow streets wind their way down from its lofty perch to the southern shore of the Golden Horn, where the evocatively aromatic Spice Bazaar beckons alongside the elegant New Mosque (opened in 1665). Nearby, the famed Galata Bridge offers pedestrian access to urban delights across the river in Istanbul’s more residential and contemporary neighborhoods, while the must-see sights of Sultanahmet are but a leisurely stroll away.
