Yes, I agree, there are a lot of places with excellent kebabs in Istanbul, but for us the food they serve here was absolutely flawless. The kebabs were juicy and full of flavor, we also tried some mushroom dish from their traditional menu and it...was great as well. I wouldn’t say it is overpriced, though, sure, you will be able to eat cheaper in Kadikoy, but in terms of the consistency and taste they are perfect. Please do not expect it to be a Michelin star restaurant just because their Chef was featured on Netflix, this place just makes a very high quality and tasty food. I hope you will enjoyed it just as we didMore

Excellent choice for both vegetarians and meat eaters! Huge variety of cold and hot starters, really traditional and authentic food, tastes like home made, tasty kebabs and breads, unusual deserts and great service! They don’t serve alcohol though - but a great place to try...some really authentic dishes!More

The place is totally overrated! Kebabs are average. You can find better places all around istanbul. Waiters and other personnels are friendly but nothing more.

I visited three restaurants with this name on the same street. I would like to say that the menu, the quality of the food and the service are equally good in all three restaurants. Inside of the restaurant is quiet compared to the tables on...the street. All procedures to prevent covid -19 are implemented well. Everything I ordered was delicious.More

Netflix is only a theory! This is supposed to be one of the best traditional Turkish restaurants (home made classic tradition)...at the end it is very overrated! The presentation and the variety we were expecting was the one seen on Netflix, the one experienced was...the exact opposite...The taste was not bad but there are plenty of better restaurants all over Turkey. It is a shame that the only episode about Turkish kitchen talks about an average restaurant. I might say that maybe before it used to be a better restaurant but unfortunately after getting popular it has lost the motivation to do better. Prices are ok, but to be honest there are better for less. I m just disappointed.More

I have been to Istanbul eight times and I first went to Çiya on my most recent. After watching chefs table and having enjoyed previous visits to Kadikoy, I had no hesitation in heading across on the boat to visit. We were welcomed by a...young waitress, who sat the six of us in the restaurant and explained how the restaurant works. She was very thorough and helpful and after having left us to read the menu for ten minutes or so, could tell we were undecided. We are all open minded eaters, and the girl asked what we thought about her making selections for us and covering the tables in mixed mezze and other popular dishes to ensure we had a taste of everything. We all personally thought this was a great idea so indeed said yes. It was the best decision I have ever made, and what proceeded was the best meal I have ever eaten. As a regular consumer of Turkish cuisine, I was amazed by the quality and the flavour profile of some of the familiar dishes. I was even more delighted to sample some wider Anatolian dishes and of course share this experience with my friends in classic Turkish fashion. The staff were so organised and willing to help, they gave us a description of every dish that was placed in front of us and were ever present but never overbearing. Whilst some of the names of the dishes escape me, notable favourites included a cherry and lamb dish, okra and green bean salad, spiced lamb mince wrapped in courgette, kibbeh (classic across Middle Eastern cuisine), stuffed eggplants as well as the classic Lamacun with mixed mezze including Hummous, haydari, etc etc. Genuinely fantastic food. We struggled to finish it all and asked for it to be wrapped up when we requested the bill. To our surprise, in pounds, the meal worked out to less than £10 per person. It was honestly bewildering to receive such great service and food in such quantity for this price, the value is astonishing and to their credit. Before we paid, we were gifted a Turkish delight style dessert, in typical Çiya style however it was not something we’d had before. A pumpkin jelly with hazelnut cream centre was paired with oregano tea and a sumac based tea as a digestif. I have eaten in many places across Turkey, many places across the UK, but based upon quality of the food, and the service of the young girl particularly, I hold this meal as my favourite food experience to date. When I go back to Istanbul, I will go back to Çiya.More

Its always a great pleasure to visit Ciya and test delicious and different dishes. The quality of food is very high and long time to prepare. Each time I'm in Istanbul, I visit Ciya always with my family and friends. Ellerinize saglik 🧿

This is actually 3 restaurants all basically next door and specializing in something different. The middle one, which we visited, sells Mezes and a la carte main courses. Everything is sold by weight or by portion. If you have been dying to try the stuffed...lamb intestine, but have been worried about food safety, this is your chance to try it. Very clean and tasty. Prices are reasonable as well.More

Sorry - I haven't thought about that because I don't eat meat. Turkish food is awesome and has lots of options for vegetarians.
