I had gone to this simple restaurant, serving local Turkish food, which is of course great food. Turkish breakfast is worth trying. I tried their Menamen, which essentially is a kind of scrambled eggs, cooked with plenty of tomatoes and a very mild green chilli. The restaurant is located on the trendy Istaklal Street, very close to Taksim Square.

Wanted Turkish food but didn't know enough to order our own. This great young guy discussed the menu and suggested he just give us a sample of stuff. So the 4 of us were at his mercy. Weren't we lucky. Such nice food , pleasant surroundings ( nothing flash) and lovely service. Many thanks

Istiqlal midan or square branch was our stop. My family and I went for lunch. Warm welcome, nice chairs and tables, tasty Iskendar Kebab, grill and steak. Asked for a nice pot of tea but unfortunately it was green tea. Two Kunafa was our last pleasure. We love the place and the people. Thank you Suits and thank you ilyas... More

Awesome! Great service for sit down. Helpful and friendly. Icli Kofte and coal roasted meat dinner. Plenty of food. Lemonade and baklava. Highly recommend. Location gets a little better price but not much to worry about. All in 50 TL or $17

This place never makes me fail. I visit this restaurant every time I visit Istanbul and Taksim Sutis is the place to be sure about the absolutely same previous experience. My favourite here is Doner on white rice and Turkish Rice pudding (Sutlac) as a dessert.

It was on our first day to Istanbul and we were starving.. We all order Eskander Kebab and was amazing.. It felt like the same taste of the original one in Bursa in 2007. Loved it..

Thank Christine E

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighborhood Profile
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
