This restaurant is located near our hotel and decided we wanted non Turkish food for a change. I had the goat cheese salad and grilled chicken with white bean mash. The salad was great but the chicken was ok. The chicken was a little tough...to eat. Hubby had the green salad and a menu special, roasted chicken with mashed potatoes. Said it was his best meal of Istanbul. Very good service, good beers and quirky atmosphere.More

I went to this restaurant on my first night in Istanbul after not having been able to get on the food tour I was hoping to. It’s a lovely place, very well located near the bridge between the old and new parts of the city....The food is a mix so I asked for recommendations for more traditional options, and ended up trying kokoreç… despite being subsequently freaked out by googling what it is, it was very good! And I was also very well looked after as a solo diner, including receiving a complementary Turkish tea and dessert simply because the waiter had misheard my request for tea and brought a dairy-based dessert I could not eat due to allergy! Although I’d say the restaurant was the least ‘local’ I ate at on my trip, it was nevertheless a great dinner and a lovely experience.More

We went to this restaurant due to all of the positive reviews online. Sadly it did not live up to the hype. The food was awful. We tried a few dishes but had the steak and sea-bass for our main course. The steak was poor...quality and very tough, it came with fries which had clearly been cooked straight from frozen. The sea bass was even worse, similar to the fries it seemed the sea-bass had potentially been cooked from frozen (if not, it certainly tasted like it!). It had no flavour and was disgusting. Considering Istanbul is known for its great sea food, it let us down. A really bad experience and I would avoid eating at all costs. There are some beautiful restaurants nearby which are 100 times better and also cheaper!More

One of the best restaurants in Istanbul. We loved the atmosphere, the food, the service and everything in between. Our server was amazing too. We went back for a second time, and I'll be going again when back.

A great place to end your day with relax music, warm atmosphere and a great glass of wine. We found it by accident as we were going to our hotel (very close to the Galata Bridge) and we said that this is the place for...us. Great wine collections , fair prices , beautiful place, warm atmosphere and very helpful and kind staff. Definitely the place to go after a long day.More

Not the first visit (the second) and despite the three years between the two experiences this second occasion only strengthened the very positive previous impression. Food is top notch, the ambient cozy and relaxing, wonderful jazz music in the background (not so loud to disturb...a table conversation), service is prompt and professional. Prices remain very reasonable. The place is small so it might be advisable to book in advance. Will come again, hopefully in less than three years this time.More

This was one of the best restaurants we eaten at in Istanbul, the food was beyond amazing, and the chicken was one of the best I have ever eaten. The interior is also very nice with music in the background. We really ended our trip...in the best possible way. Be sure to book in advance as it was full on the day we went. Prices are very reasonable: a glass of wine, cocktail, cheese platter and two main courses plus dessert all for aprox 17 euro per person!More

The place itself is nice and cozy. Prices are average, but we didn't enjoy the food taste as much as we were expecting. The service was poor, we ordered 2 cocktails, but the lady brought just one, and then we had to ask for a...2nd cocktail 4 times, while the bartender wasn't doing anything. When we were leaving with some of our food untouched, we got some unpleased looks from the staff. Hopefully, this was just a one-time-off as the place has great potential. Wouldn't go back.More

We had discovered this very hip restaurant last October visiting so we were so happy that our hotel was right by there this time. We were visiting with a huge group. We became regulars for the two weeks we were there in Istanbul. They made...us feel at home. The owners Shaban, and Mohamad were so accommodating and friendly without ordering as soon as we were seated they knew what drinks we liked and their crispy chicken is soooo delicious. I highly recommend Gumruk and we will definitely go back next time we are in Istanbul. Thank you so much for a memorable time!More

This was right by our hotel so lucky to have found it as in a very quiet location. It felt like walking into a little bistro in Paris. So quaint with the quirky decor. Jazz music playing in the background gives it an even more...chilled vibe. Staff are do warm and friendly. Menu is small bit what they offer is outstandingly good! Steak with fried potoates ( not fries but homemade slices of potato) and salad. Best steak I've had in a long time and only 50TL. Wine selection is super, had quite a few glasses of the merlot which is delicious. Would definitely return here on our next visit to Istanbul and make sure we stay close.More

Nice, clean and little restaurant very close to Karakoy station, it reminds european style locals. Menù includes mediterranean typical food and turkish wine selection. A glass is around 40 liras, a bottle 180 liras. Staff is kind and service is quiet quick.
