We stumbled on this place not realizing it was a vegetarian restaurant and were so glad we went in! Lovely tasty lunch, good portions. Pretty good value. Very nice decor and ambiance. I had a kinda warm smoked bulgar salad which was delicious and my partner a quiche which he also enjoyed. Good central location. Would return in a flash.... More

Very good vegetarian food in a very cosy atmosphere. Nice people, and a very different approach to food than elsewhere in Istanbul. Worth making a detour.

Lovely restaurant with outdoor seating close to Taksim. They clearly marked what is veggie and what is vegan and the food is outstanding!

I was happy to find a modern, tasteful vegetarian restaurant in Istanbul. Very good, friendly and professional service. Affordable prices and the two possible portions makes it ideal for lunch or snack as well. Fresh and tasteful food, partially based on the traditional Turkish kitchen. Great but simple interior.

What a find - I researched Zencefil before going out to Istanbul and after an afternoon sightseeing we were famished when we went finally found it. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Boards had all the specials on, making it easy to choose what we wanted to eat. A great relaxed atmosphere and loved the glass open area. We... More

Trendy vegetarian cafe-restaurant with a pleasant courtyard just off Istiklal Caddesi. It serves delicious fresh bread and a wide selection of dishes that can be washed down with an equally wide range of herbal teas.

I think Vegetarians would love this restaurant as it is mainly Vegan food they have. I would recommend this place for a drink and dessert. I had potato and mushroom pie but the highlight was plum pie dessert.

Excellent location, high-ceilings, nice natural light and simple furnishing. I have seen many places and this is my newly-elected favourite veggie place. Vast choice of food, so many options to choose from, good wine list and simple, brilliant service. Just try it, you won't be disappointed.

I was given yoghurt which wasn't vegan with my vegan dish even though I had asked if it was vegan, the staff aren't particularly helpful. The food came within 5 mins. I had stuffed submerging, it didn't taste particularly fresh. This place didn't feel cosy

I liked the lovely courtyard but the food is average - microwaved vegetarian meals. The spinach lasagna and carrot ginger soup were good I suppose. They could do more with the menu. Great for drinks.

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighborhood Profile
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
