If you are visiting the Eminonu area and looking for a local taste, Tarihi Eminonu Durumcusu is a good fast lunch option. Pistachio kebap durum and skewed liver durum are my favorites. Don't forget to drink Ayran with the food.

We had lunch here today (May 9) after our Grand Bazaar visit. Totally worth the long walk and search. So tasty and filling! Loved the Adana kebap. Beyti with garlic and Urfa (not spicy). Tip: located opposite the grand post

Delicious Turkish food in the old city/ historic area. Very close to the Grand Bazaar. Try their Adana and Urfa durum and mezes.

had dinner here with friends and colleagues from the Philippines, the Gulf & Indonesia... truly a memorable place for a simple dinner... we chose an outdoor seating because of our number and simply because the weather allowed us to have dinner al fresco... we had a full 360 degree view of what it feels like to dine with the locals...... Nice corner spot, with indoor and outdoor seating. Was closed the first time we tried to go - so not sure about their hours. Food was excellent, service was excellent - it was cold and they gave us blankets and turned on the heater outside too. Decent prices as well. Easily reached as well.

We had kebab rolls including the lovely Adana spicy kebab. Authentic and rich taste good for on the go or a quick sit in on the way to spice market or ayasofya

Staying in Grand Bazaar

Neighborhood Profile
Grand Bazaar
Tourists, hawkers, and locals come together at the Grand Bazaar to comb its labyrinthine passageways in search of a bargain – be it a pair of brand name jeans, a handcrafted silk rug, or a perfectly brewed cup of tea. Outside the vast bazaar, worn, narrow streets wind their way down from its lofty perch to the southern shore of the Golden Horn, where the evocatively aromatic Spice Bazaar beckons alongside the elegant New Mosque (opened in 1665). Nearby, the famed Galata Bridge offers pedestrian access to urban delights across the river in Istanbul’s more residential and contemporary neighborhoods, while the must-see sights of Sultanahmet are but a leisurely stroll away.
