As a guest of the magnificent Shangri-La Bosphorus Hotel, I couldn’t not eat with my family in the Shang Palace restaurant of the hotel. We booked the restaurant for the last evening of our stay and and I can honestly say that we closed our...holiday in beauty. Let me first say that it was my first time eating Chinese food and it was superlative! The waiter who guided us throughout the duration of the dinner was very professional, but also nice. The best I’ve ever met so far, and it’s gonna be hard to find a better one. Food was so good, we took two appetizers, two main courses, noddles and the unmissable rice. Desserts which were beautiful and delicious like anything else! It’s not over yet, in fact the bast part arrived at the end: an unforgettable artistic performance to pour the tea made by an…artist! It was amazing! In short if you want have the best Chinese food in Istanbul and an unforgettable experience, you must go to Shang Palace!More

The restaurant is in the Shangri La hotel, which itself is a well needed oasis of calm in the chaotic environment that is Istanbul! The food was outstanding and many of the dishes were excellent value. The Siu Mai and Xao Long Bao were high...lights. Been on the road for almost 2 weeks and Istanbul was the last stop so we were looking for some comfort food. I am a fan of Shang Palace (or Summer Palace) but unfortunately, it was disappointing. First thing first, we respect the local dress...code so we checked online in advance. It says no shorts or sandals, so we complied but when we were there, at least two tables came with shorts so "which is which". Nightmare ordering process as the waitress wasn't familiar with the menu and she had to check with her colleagues back and fore. In addition, she got a few of orders wrong starting with the soups; then followed by the Peking duck (2 ways) and it came with a plate of roast duck. Then Peking duck came with the wraps only, she didn't order the 2nd way which was supposed to come with minced duck meat and lettuce. Overall, the food is so so, so don't expect a real Chinese food experience. Service is fine and staff were polite and apologetic to what had happened. Perhaps, the manager or senior staff should have taken over the ordering process rather than leaving it to an inexperienced staff. It wasn't a good experience.More

I went with my wife kids and family they were very welcoming. Good authentic chines food. Prices reasonable but remember it's 5 star hotel. They have speical set of plates for kids. And remember to order chines green tea they havea a tea master that...will do a show while pouring the tea.More

The atmosphere of the restaurant was incredible. when I told the waiter (Mr. Kerem) that ı am vegeterian, he helped me professşonally all the dishes he suggested were great. and also special thanks to the Restaurant Manager(Mr....Halul) he was very kind and helpful. Following a spectacular Chinese meal at a five star hotel in Cairo I thought I would get lucky again in Istanbul. Unfortunately not. The restaurant is nice inside and the staff is dressed in fine Chinese silks. But the fun ends quickly. The service is...incompetent with multiple waiters battling to accomplish nothing.
