We had a nice dinner on the roof of the restaurant with good view. The old man that served us was very pleasant. The food was tasty and the white wine -delicious.

Food in this place is amazing! Try the sultan's favorite and the lamb, service is sooo great and they always remember what you drink and your preferences whenever you go back and that is something that a lot of us appreciate. Absolutely recommended, very close to Haghia Sophia and the main square. Price is also very reasonable and less expensive... More

I had an awesome steak the night before around the corner so I decided to try another. This one disappointed, was tough and the gravy or whatever they put on it was not very tasty. My wife had the Tavuk Sis (chicken skewer) and it was pretty good and worth the price.

After a morning of sightseeing in Fener area we returned to Sultanahmet and found this lovely little place. We were sitting outside to enjoy the sun so can't comment on the interior. They served local Efes beer for a reasonable price. We also had not so light lunch, doner kebab and chicken kebab. All was nicely presented with fresh salad... More

We had a wonderful meal on the top floor overlooking the Blue Mosque. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was great. A perfect place to eat after a full day of walking around Istanbul.

Good food, a charming host and fair prices. The menu was varied with more delicious vegetarian choices than most. We are not vegetarians but have friends who are so take note of this. We ate there three times during our week in Istanbul. On two of the evenings trade was quiet. On our last visit the restaurant was extremely busy... More

Based on the trip advisor reviews we went to La Casita for an early dinner and we weren't disappointed. We had 2 large beers (TL9 each) and the lamb claypot kebap for a total of TL91. The kebap was a healthy serving for two people. The maitre de was friendly without being intrusive. After giving us the bill he also... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
