Harab'be is an extremely friendly and wonderful cafe down an alleyway near Sultanahmet. Everyday we were treated to a warm welcome and great drinks and a really good selection of Nargile if you wish to do so. Very quiet, peaceful, and shaded which is perfect for a hot day. Please seek this place out if you come to Istanbul please... More

Harab'be is that magical place when you travel, where you find yourself gravitating back to. Teamed with the cozy and authentic atmosphere you will find yourself settling into Istanbul life. Harab'be was is down a alley off a main drag. The main drag is littered with restaurants for tourist and hosts trying to pull you in for an 'authentic' Turkish... More

Found this place almost by mistake- best mistake ever. We ended up coming here each night for the rest of our stay in the old city. The herbal teas are amazing. Selection of hooka is excellent- we tried various blends each visit- the apple and strawberry were two of our favorites. We enjoyed sitting in the quaint outdoor seating area.... More

Do yourself a favor and find this place. Amazing everything, but particularly the service and welcoming atmosphere. We cruised in on a Friday night to live music after a long flight. Harab'be was perhaps my favorite experience of our entire two week European trip. Great drink, food, shisha, design, and wifi. A welcome respite and truly exceptional experience.

Very nice atmosphere and delicious food. We had a mixed kebab and grilled vegetables. Very large serving sizes. Fresh and well cooked.

Chef Josef and co owner Emre provide a dining experience that feels like you are a guest in their home. The Mezza was delicious as were the main courses. When Josef found out it was our son's birthday, he brought a cake for us to celebrate. It was a special evening!

We went there for a meal and we stayed as for a family diner ! The team was so welcoming and warm with us (they changed a meal despite I didn't say I was allergic to something) they speak both very good french an english. Dishes are delicious, and chichas (hookas) are good. We've been lucky to be invited to... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
