This is one of the many times we visited Saray Muhallebicisi since it is in my neighbourhood. This time we had an ouside table which is infront of the restaurant with fresh flowing air during this hot Sunday evening. Service is very polite and attentive. I had a chicken soup with vermicelli and shared an omelette with cheese. Both were... More

I used to go to Saray Muhallebicisi when there was only one on Istiklal caddesi. There was a limited menu but it had its middle-class character and respect for the guests. You were welcomed and thanked when you left. This particular branch, not the Metrocity one, has no sense of its history and what it stands for. Just a me-too... More

We had a very nice Sunday afternoon lunch at this neighbourhood restaurant with my wife. You can sit outside at the patio or inside. The hall is long and extends to the greenery at the back. Since the outside was overheated we sat inside near the grasses at the back. We had chicken soups as starters. Then I had chicken... More

Famous for their "Tavukgöğsü Kazandibi", medium quality for the other desserts, you can eat a good döner (gyro) also..

Visited Tesvikiye branch on May 17th, around 8 pm (just in case the managers of the network would wish to investigate) and got a table on a kind of a podium inside the restaurant. First, the most tables were dirty and unattended, though some waiters stayed chatting to each other outside of the restaurant. Second, nobody approached us to serve.... More

I love Saray (Suadiye location) for breakfast, pastries, and milk desserts. The quality is consistently excellent, and as its almost always busy, the ambiance is warm and upbeat. The service is really good too. I like the enormous breakfast plate that comes with everything…every individual item is of premium quality, and I really appreciate that. I typically buy breakfast pastries... More

We were four persons. We had five different sweets and a cheese pie. The only good one was the rise pudding. I cannot understand we so much fuss about the place. Everything was low quality with so much sugar and smelly heavy ship butter. In Greece we do use clear fresh ship butter for the great aroma and I can... More

Staying in Sisli

Neighborhood Profile
For much of Istanbul’s history, Sisli and the area just north of Taksim Square were open countryside used mostly as hunting grounds. These days, Sisli and its chic streets are considered the very heart of contemporary Istanbuli life, where an epicenter of fashion and a thriving business district meet to create an expressly “downtown” feel. Though largely a residential neighborhood, luxury hotels, fine dining restaurants, and upscale shops abound with many of them situated inside or nearby Cevahir Istanbul, the biggest shopping mall in Europe and second biggest urban shopping mall in the world. Shopaholics and fashionistas travel from near and far to browse the area's mix of major global brand items and creations by popular Turkish designers.
