Was a bit empty when we went, but we did not regret having a try at this restaurant. There was no one heckling from outside which is quite a relief; the waiting staff was nevertheless the most helpful and would do anything to make your stay comfortable. The service was quick as there was not many people a this time... More

Finally a place where 'they don't drag you inside the restaurant'! The personal is very friendly, perfect english. We shared a vegetable Quesadilla as apetizer - delicious!! My Kebab with jogurt (choosen based on a TripAdvisor recomandation) tasted very good, something different than the usul. My friend had the vegetarian Fettucinnni and was delighted! Very good prices for such a... More

Staying at the Hotel Neorion, we tried this on our first night and were not disappointed. Simple dishes, Turkish as well as European, we enjoyed our meal and it is really good value

This restaurant is now turned into a hotel lobby. It still says Cafe Mese on the outside etc, but they are not serving customers anymore.

If you want a no fuss, no frills, basic quality plate of food, look no further. We had the pasta dishes and were pleasantly surprised. Very good all round value. Strongly recommended.

We stayed in the Neorion Hotel, and this restaurant is on the hotel's lower level - with its own entrance on Hudavendigar Caddesi. We were looking for a break from Turkish cuisine, and came here to try something different. We had a veggie quesadilla (of all things) for an appetizer, and pasta for dinner. The quesadilla was a bit different... More

On the fourth evening in Istanbul, my daughters ate burgers here for supper and the next morning one of my daughters had stomach cramps, diarrhoea and vomited. She was fine by the next evening. We can't be 100pc sure the burger here caused it, but lunch the previous day seems to have been unlikely. The family had no food problems... More

Ordered pasta here and met some fellow South Africans enjoying steak. Loved the pasta however it was a bit bland. Nice warm relaxing atmosphere

Two years ago when we visited Istanbul, we ate here several times due to the menu choices and excellent service. We were really disappointed this time. Food very average, and quite pricey for the quality. Service was average. It seems now more focused on being a provider of accommodation than of food. No-one else ate there while we were there.... Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
