We have been to Hardal in Caddebostan district of Kadıköy on Anatolian side for an early dinner.First of all,we must state that we had a very warm welcome by the service staff and escorted us to our table. You are not disturbed until you are...ready to make yr order with them.Surprisingly, they have very extensive menu with many choices for everybody. Our food was cooked very well and was very tasty.Portions were large enough with side dishes.Food price was ok for such good quality and delicious meal. But, price level for alcholic drinks are on the high end.Seating facilities are very modern and comfortable.İnterior decorations are also very modern and nice. Service staff is very kind, fast and informative.Lovely place to have good time in nice ambiance.Recommended.More

Went to this place right before sunset. It has an incredible view! The most appealing thing was the great service, we were greeted with smiles and complimentary shots. The food that followed was freshly cooked and tasteful. It is a bit pricey but you do...get value for what you pay for. Do visit this spot atleast once during your trip to Istanbul !More

The management of this restaurant must be still living in the 80s! I took my three British friends there and we were not allowed to get in as we were an all male party! (To give you an idea, all of us are well educated,...well dressed and in our late 30s, early 40s. ) I was told by the bouncer that the management wouldn't want male only parties as they see them potential harassers (!) and even some men who arrived with female friends would HARASS other females time to time! I can't help but think that their experienced bouncers must be handpicking troublemakers very carefully and let them in and leave civilised people out! :) So, if you are an all male party, don't bother going there as you won't be allowed to get in and if you go there with your girlfriend, partner, wife or female friend, EXPECT some other men to HARASS them. I suddenly feel sorry for the management now. In order to avoid such problems, maybe they should simply turn it into a female only place! No men, no problem! :) As for us, we found a great place just around the corner from Hardal, where we were not discriminated because of our gender and had a great time! Besides, we did not harass and women. There are so many great places in Istanbul to hangout, drink and eat. Please try civilised places and don't support this ancient attitude. Thanks for reading.More

I was strolling through the side streets of Istiklal Cd with a friend last weekens when we happened upon this place. It looked nice, a little bit retro, lots of bright colours.... we had a quick debate about whwther we wanted to go in and...decided to do so.... unfortunately we were stopped by the doorman.. he jus said "reservation", and shook his head when we said "no". Now, there are two things you should know... a) the place was EMPTY. On a Saturday evening between eight and nine around Istiklal this is unusual.. the doorman was carrying a clipboard with a sheet of paper on it, eight or ten entries there...fully booked my a*se . b) my (male) friend and my (male) self were holding hands in full view of the doorman when we had our little discussion about going in... I am not one to shout discrimination immediately, but honestly, what other reason could there have been for barring us from going in? I like to think that the tripadvisor clientele is too enlightened for this kind of bs and will join me in giving a wide berth to Hardal. Thanks!More

hardal/ asmalimescit has very good bosphorus view from its terrace. But unfortunately it is only open in summer-spring. the atmosphere of the restaurant is great and personnels are very friendly. Foods are good but a little expensive. If u smoke, the restaurant have no place...to smoke in winter coz terrace is close. hardal has a place in Nisantasi as well. So i prefer to go to the Nisantasi Hardal in cold days. But if the weather is good, don't miss the terrace of the HARDAL/ Asmalimescit :).Go and taste the foods with great view while drinking your vine.More
