The food is good and the service professional. But the real fun is looking at the old posters and news clippings on the wall from back in the day when this was the stop for hippies heading out to the middle east. Conveniently located near...tourist attractions, good prices.More

Went here for lunch, and they are basically catering to tourists. Having been here a week already , we know what we should get. We ordered Chai and got earl grey tea, not the Chai tea they serve everywhere else and they still charged us...for it! The food we had was was very bland and very disappointing. The service was terrible as well. I do not recommend this place.More

While they claim to be selling the World's Best rice pudding, i feel, they have not yet seen or tried worlds' pudding to claim such a claim. Yes, they do serve excellent pudding. The one we ordered was Cinnmon custard pudding and it was certainly...delicious, but far short of the claim they make. We even tried the Rice Custard Pudding and they too were delicious. Not a must but if you are in that area, then not bad to try it once.More

I have been to many places in Istanbul for eating. But I did enjoy the most with Lale restaurant. The food is excellent, and the waiters are very nice. Location is perfetc, right near Sultan Ahmet square.

Everything was good but iskanar kebap is a little cold. The location is great and the decorations are also nice

After a long walk along the city and sightseeing we stopped there to have a nice meal. But the food was very average and the service was absolutely poor. The food came semi warm in the cold plates. My sister ordered stuffed zucchini which tasted...disgusting (the stuffing cheese tasted like milk that was gone off). she could not touch it. No body from the waiting team came to ask whether we were alright with our food or not and even when they came to take the plates and my sister complained about her food quality the waiter just nod his head. The owner of the restaurant was sitting just few tables from us and I am sure he was aware that what was going on but did not bother to come forward and apologise. I don't recommend this place at all due to poor customer service, poor quality of food and being not good value for money.More

I have enjoyed this restaurant whenever I am in Taksim or Beyoglu. It has not changed its eye for details and tasteful Turkish food for 40 years

I am surprised at some of the reviews on here which seem to suggest that The Pudding Shop is disappointing. I found it lovely. A tour guide recommended it as somewhere "not fancy" but with good, home-cooked food, so as the guide was so nice...I thought I'd give it a try. The staff were really nice and welcoming, and very helpful. I had pacanga rolls - pastrami, cheese and vegetables in pastry rolls with salad, and it was absolutely delicious, one of the nicest things I've eaten so far in Istanbul. I'm not here for much longer, but am hoping to fit another visit in as I enjoyed it. Yes, it is quite basic and ordinary looking. No, it isn't the same as in the 1960's but what is still the same as then? (I don't know as I wasn't born then but I've read about what the café was like). I would definitely recommend it as a place to eat.More

Istanbul is filled with places to eat. But this one was very good and we enjoyed our time there. The staff was very helpful and kind. It was a bit warm in the heat of the day, but it is tolerable.
