Every time I visit Istanbul's Old City, I make sure to stop at Medusa for coffee, beer, and a consistently excellent meal. While I almost always order the mezze platter as well as stuffed pumpkin flowers, the entrees are also delicious. The service is very friendly, and the location (right next to the underground cistern) is convenient for anyone visiting... More

The veal was amazing, and the prawns were fantastic. However the Manti was out of this world. Great culinary experience. Beautiful ambiance eating in the courtyard. We really enjoyed the food.

This restaurant is a few steps away from Basilica Cistern. There's a small garden outside where you sit and eat in a very romantic atmosphere. The service is very good and the food is really nice. We tried most of the appetizers and they were delicious. Also, the lamb was really succulent. I recommend this restaurant for a dinner a... More

It was out last supper of 7 days in this vibrant interesting bustling with activity city. We just dropped in for a late afternoon drink and immediately fell in love with the hospitality and the garden, 2 hrs later we went back for dinner, interesting well cooked food that had great flavours.

I ate here on my first night in Istanbul. The food is OK, the staff friendly and attentive, but it is nothing special. But it is also no tourist trap, yet you pay a little bit extra for the proximity to the Hagia Sophia.

This place caught our eye as we were wandering round on our last morning so popped in for a coffee and some cake, nice people as you'd hope but the main thing is the quirkiness and charm of their terrace, really unusual especially in the tourist areas, well worth a visit

Neighborhood Profile
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
