Historical and well located in front of the bosphoros, this is the place to get your sugar intake, turkish coffee, and chai. With multiple locations in Istanbul, my three favorite locations are in front of Sultan Ahmet (Blue mosque), at Serkeci in front of the train station, and the original stife behind Yenj Camii near the Spice Bazzar.

Very testy Turkish delights , I got some on my last day in Istanbul, just as gift for my parents, and I tested them back home , and they were soo good that I felt sorry for not buying more , not too sweet, just the good amount of sugar to taste right , it's a bit expensive, but it... More

This cafe is located near takseem square. It is a typical Turkish coffee shop. Turkish tea is very tasty and rich. The sweets are mouth dropping. Try the baqlava, the pistachio roles and the dandorma.

First off, no hagglers outside the door trying to lure you in. Which is highly appreciated. Upon entrance the host will greet you and offer a free sample of Turkish delight. Must try.....amazing...soft, nutty flavour, nuts are fresh not stale so is the delight. High turn over of food so it's always fresh. They carry baklava and other desserts as... More

We visited the place several times and found it the best option for desserts and turkish sweets. I had some interest in the history of ottoman cuisine and desserts and the place had a great selection available. While there are competitors, which have claim of authenticity and heritage, this is a convenient and reliable option for the tourist. Strongly recommended!

Staying in Grand Bazaar

Neighborhood Profile
Grand Bazaar
Tourists, hawkers, and locals come together at the Grand Bazaar to comb its labyrinthine passageways in search of a bargain – be it a pair of brand name jeans, a handcrafted silk rug, or a perfectly brewed cup of tea. Outside the vast bazaar, worn, narrow streets wind their way down from its lofty perch to the southern shore of the Golden Horn, where the evocatively aromatic Spice Bazaar beckons alongside the elegant New Mosque (opened in 1665). Nearby, the famed Galata Bridge offers pedestrian access to urban delights across the river in Istanbul’s more residential and contemporary neighborhoods, while the must-see sights of Sultanahmet are but a leisurely stroll away.
