This restaurant is situated on the entrance level of a historical building in the heart of 'Persembepazari' which is in the Istanbul hardware market. It is a simple restaurant with wooden tables with no tableclothes. I have been visiting it for at least 40 years. The menu hasnot changed since then. The staff is the same for many years and they... He history and culture found in this Fish restaurant is one of the oldest in Istanbul. Left over from generation to generation, the taste we had were truly one if the best iv had in istanbul, and im local. WARNING!! Dont ask for Salgam or turkish tea, they dont belong in traditional fish restaurants so you wont find them here!!

This authentic restaurant seems to have stagnated. Perhaps lack of wild caught fish locally has declined. Their menu has been same for years, only prices went up. They have to reinvent themselves before I revisit.

Located in old part of the city nearby hardware stores. Great view of old city, Topkapi Palace and Golden Horn. Specialties: Seabass cooked in paper, lakerda (raw fish) and fish on skewer. Best fish in town. Really!

We had the fish soup which was really great! The octopus starter was delicious. For mains my wife had grilled senorita and I had the seabass. Both dishes were very good. We had 3 glasses of wine which were 30 TL each! That was way too pricey for 3 glasses of wine! Total was 276 TL.

This restaurant is located at the east of Karakoy side, Galata bridge, Istanbul. I visited this in the evening, and, when I tried to find it, I'm so curious because all the shops near the restaurant were closed and the streets near the restaurant were so dark. And, there's no big sign board outside or street. 1st floor of the... More

We visited this place as part of a week long trip to Istanbul. This place is difficult to find. Someone in a stationary shop next door took our reservation as restaurant closed. When we arrived nobody had heard of our reservation. Service was very prompt and fish was very good although perhaps not spectacular. View is pretty spectacular though with... More

I recommend this restaurant, for the food, the wide range of wine (at every price, from very cheap to super expensive). The view is unforgettable, the staff ok. Very nice experience, go and see!

Staying in Karakoy

Neighborhood Profile
Karakoy
Sitting pretty with an age-old air about it, Karakoy is situated on the European side of the Bosphorus at the mouth of the Golden Horn. Perhaps the city’s most historically significant area, it’s currently one of the most happening parts of town as well. Here street vendors and alfresco fish restaurants line the banks of the Horn where the views of major attractions across the water rival Karakoy’s own key attractions, such as the iconic 14th century Galata Tower and the Museum of Modern Art. A major hub for local and international waterborne traffic, Istanbul’s commercial and maritime heritage remains as relevant and evident as ever in Karakoy. Commuter ferries mingle with luxury cruise liners at its busy port, ensuring a continuously cosmopolitan flow of people..
