After a nice stroll along Istikal Cadessi, my partner and I decided to have some dinner and chose Marko Paşa. It was an excellent decision and we had an amazing meal. This is a "must go" in the neighborhood. Extensive menu, great service and reasonable prices. We had traditional manti dumplings swimming in yogurt and then beyti kebap. Very satisfying... More

The food at this place is great and the prices are cheap. Unfortunately even though it was only 3 tables, we only got 1 of the 3 mains we ordered. I got an other tables main course (different than I ordered), leaving another person without food at that table. On the bill all main courses was what we ordered, not... More

We entered the restaurant based on Tripadvisor ratings, as it didn't look very appealing from outside. It is close to Taksim square, with traditional food and decoration. The food was good, service not very fast but pleasant. It was a better experience than we have expected judging from the outside.

Even if the restaurant does not serves the dish that is famous for anymore, the traditional giozleme, everything was fantastic, the atmosphere, the service and of course the food. Easy to find, in an alley 50 meters from istiklal you can find tranditional, cheap and well cooked food. Must go

Really enjoyed my simple meat and cheese pide, hummus and Coke Zero. The staff were lovely and could see I was struggling with the language, very welcoming!! It's not super expensive but the food is really fresh and not overdone!

Authentic turkish restaurant that has the best gözleme in Istanbul. Well worth a visit both for lunch and dinner.

Its a nice restaurant downtown and easy to find as it is near the main road of taksim. The food is good and tasty and also the service is good. One particular waiter was weird and was hitting straight on our teams women and made them feel uncomfortable. After a sort argument he stopped doing it but he ruined our... More

I was looking in TA for nearby good restos and this one popped up as few feet away from hotel in Taksim. Though it is pretty small with few table, it's interior is nice, colorful and cosy, feels like a South American rustic cottage with all those food jars on the shelves.. Service was great and helpful in choosing the... More

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighborhood Profile
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
