The food is delicious and the team very nice! You have to try the pumpkin dessert, it's great. And the terrace is cute and calm. I will return.

We found PePo through Tripadvisor, it is a cosy place near the Galatatower. The service is good, very nice people: we ordered the 'chicken in bread', it was delicious. Certanly a perfect place for familys, with a good kitchen.

We visited Pepo Galata located in a very historical building. The venue is located in a building that constructed in 1881. It was constructed with a classical style for that period; thick masonary walls and using one-way slab tecnique with deadman-clay bricks. The building managed to reach sound until today was belonged to Pepo Family making fedoras. It continues to... More

Food was very tasty (if a tiny bit expensive), the ambience was lovely and quiet. The waiter was very friendly and accomodating.

Outstanding! A quiet spot hidden in the corner of a street leading to Galata Tower. What we did not anticipate is the narrow cozy porch hidden in the back. Food and service were excellent. I had a type of shrimp casserole, my colleagues had a house specialty (advertised for a couple but made for three to further accommodate us). Drinks... More

We were there only days after the airport attack which significantly reduced the amount of tourists in Istanbul. Even though we were (like every other restaurant) one out of only a few tables occupied, the kitchen took GREAT care to serve fresh food, perfect taste, last not least due to organic ingredients. That is remarkable. When in Galata Tower vicinity,... More

I've been staying in the Galata Towers neighborhood for three weeks and this is my favorite place, I dine here several times a week and when a friend visited me from America he had dinner at Pepo four nights out of five. My favorite dish is the vegetarian wrap, my friend especially enjoyed the chicken with eggplant. There is a... More

This restaurant offers a variety of popular Turkish foods along with some tourist staples like pizza, pasta and steak. Located just below the Galata Tower, they have a cozy back terrace that was very comfortable and quiet, especially compared to the noise of the nearby pedestrian streets. We were warmly greeted and made to feel at home. Most of the... More

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighborhood Profile
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
