Food was great, staff were friendly without the hussle and reasonably priced. I'm very picky with restaurants and wouldn't say this lightly but I would highly recommend this restaurant. Give it a go!

It is hard to find places that make really good kebab. With kebap I refer to Adana or Urfa kebap. You can find many places with many good food options in Old Town. If your target is a good kebap, this is the place. Besides, they have yummy appetizers. The good fine is another plus.

In a city where you can start to think that all restaurants are alike and serve the same fare, Khorasani was a welcome change. They serve traditional dishes, for sure, but the atmosphere is high-end while not being overly expensive. Service was attentive and the menu was interesting. It's located in an area with many tourist restaurants, with people trying... More

This happens to be one of the best meals that we had in istanbul. it was simple, yet solid turkish food. i value good service, and they were very attentive. i loved the warm, puffy bread they brought to the table. we ordered muhamarra (roasted red pepper dip) and a couple kebab dishes with rice. the kebabs and rice tasted... We dined here on or first night in Istanbul as it was close to the hotel and recommended. We shared the mixed kebab plate which was generous in size and very tasty. Great service also, world highly recommend.

This restaurant was recommended to us by the hotel we were staying at. We dined at Khorasani 3 times in our 4 day stay because we were disappointed in other restaurants and this place ticked all the boxes. The rice pudding is delicious as are the ottoman dishes.

We discovered a new scam in Istanbul, people who greet you in the street pretending to recognise you from your hotel. They then guide you away from your intended restaurant to the one that pays them a commission. Fortunately for us we resisted the approach and kept to our first choice of Khorasani. Our determination was rewarded with the best... More

We started with the aubergine salad, köfte and shepherd's salad. The salads were very fresh and the köfte krispy on the outside and creamy and spicy inside. We tried the aubergine kebab and the pistachio kebab. Both were feeshly made on the coal fired grill behind us. Delicious! The staff was very friendly and attentive.

While trying to navigate unsuccessfully (using FourSquare) in the SultanAhmet neighborhood, we stumbled upon this gem of an eatery and were greeted by courteous staff with a sense of humor! And they spoke English. Well, atleast Yusuf and Bilal did (Bilal's father was a muazzin hence the name Bilal). Both were extremely polite and accommodating. We had their Mix grill... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
