I have visited the restaurant by chance. The restaurant has traditional Ottoman food, I have tried the chicken which was excellent and my son tried the Kofte and lentil soup which also was very good. The staff were friendly and they offer us free Turkish sweets.

If you want to taste trad. Ottoman palast kitchen , you can not miss this restaurant. This is the quick bistro version of the chain. They also have a bigger retourant in the topkapi palast.

We were looking for traditional turkish food at a reasonable price, so we went in to see what kind of things they were serving, since it seemed like a restaurant attended by locals. There were lots of different options (buffet style), so we asked the guy that was serving what the dishes were made of. He was very nice, explained... More

Located at the opposite of Sirkeci Train Station this convenient location self service restaurant is a past glorious Turkish cuisine restaurant, established hundred years ago and hosted many celebrities, world leaders... But the food in this pricy restaurant was unfortunately lower quality than many other Turkish restaurants in Istanbul....Do not think I will visit again...

İ used to go there during lunch time. İ advise you to try their melfe dessert and some olive oil food. Realy good quality. The location is good very close to Sirkeci station and Eminonu however restaurant is simple and without any view. Prices little be higher than in places around with self servise but quality is good.

Warning! Had stewed lamb shank yesterday evening with a huge stewed black fly in it. Not even a simple apology, not a single response from any of the staff including the waitor, the cashier or the chef at the counter who all witnessed the disgusting incident. When I addressed him the chef suggested with a silly grin it was in... More

This restauarnt is highly recommended by Istanbul locals who know food. You can be sure you are getting the best possible food with very reasonable price. Turkish food is delicous, this restaurant really delivers! This restaurant is casual dinning, meaning no waiters. You give you order and take your food at the counter. Pay attention that this site splitting the... More

I typically take people here for the scene and the Turkish cuisine. It is a nice venue -- reliably good service, with clean restroom facilities. If you are a tourist and want a break from the street hassle, you will find it to be an adequate stop. The food here is good -- you don't often go wrong in Turkey... More

Staying in Grand Bazaar

Neighborhood Profile
Grand Bazaar
Tourists, hawkers, and locals come together at the Grand Bazaar to comb its labyrinthine passageways in search of a bargain – be it a pair of brand name jeans, a handcrafted silk rug, or a perfectly brewed cup of tea. Outside the vast bazaar, worn, narrow streets wind their way down from its lofty perch to the southern shore of the Golden Horn, where the evocatively aromatic Spice Bazaar beckons alongside the elegant New Mosque (opened in 1665). Nearby, the famed Galata Bridge offers pedestrian access to urban delights across the river in Istanbul’s more residential and contemporary neighborhoods, while the must-see sights of Sultanahmet are but a leisurely stroll away.
