Just off the main street and tramway in Sultanahmet. We followed a guide book recommendation and later regretted it. The wine we ordered was apparently out of stock. OK, it happens, but without a word of explanation we were served a carafe of unknown wine. (It was red, so they got that correct). The expensive cocktails were served 2 minutes... More

An impressive looking menu and restaurant, we had a tasty meal that was slightly different to the normal run. Complementary starters with a big main course meant no space for desert. Staff very friendly.

We enjoyed the cuisine and Turkish hospitality so much that we ate there and at their sister restaurant Rumeli (next door) twice! The food is amazing and the service was very attentive and friendly. I would recommend this restaurant for it's locale (near the Blue Mosque) and for great people watching! There is also a big TV on the patio,... More

It's on a corner , very easy to find. Place is huge ( on many levels and it doesn't feel like mass catering, loads of in intimate places to hide with the building. So don't worry if you've not booked. . Very friendly , especially when they are getting you in to sit and then they will back off and... More

By booking in advance, the restaurant will cater for any number of diners. They will set up a table of almost any length in the lane outside the restaurant (there is also a nice intimate dining room inside the old building and a larger 'banquet room', in case of weather change). The outside has fans and heaters and rain cover... More

Nice to sit on the side street off the tram street in Sultanahmet, the Old City. Central and easy going with a menu that embraces traditional Anatolian dishes and some international cuisine (pasta etc.). Friendly staff and heaters over the outdoor tables making it comfortable regardless of the weather. Upstairs there is one small room that will seat 6 or... More

We picked this place at random because we were tired of walking and ready for dinner and were pleasantly surprised by the food and service. Serbat was our waiter and he took care of all our needs. My friend and I shared a salad, and had a mixed meat grill and kagit kebob (cooked in paper) as a mains washed... More

Dined twice here at the ends of a two week photo trip through Turkey with Turfantastik Tours. Excellent service and fine food (Trukish ravioli once and a heavenly aromatically spiced lamb the other. A bit more than the usual donner kebab place, but worth it

Description
"The Mozaik restaurant, with its three floors and a basement, is housed in a nicely renovated Ottoman house. As much as possible of the original was preserved, hence the rather small rooms with plenty of tables for two, wooden floors and creaking stairs. The perfect setting for a candlelit tête-à-tête dinner. The cuisine is mainly Turkish and international."

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
