The food. Well, it was ok! I wasn't even paying much attention to it. It was hard to do so it that stunning view around us. The sun was setting, the prayers was echoing from both the blue mosque and Hagia sophia. There was a lovely wedding happening at the rooftop of the hotel next door. I have to admit... More

The view from the terrace is very good. But the food and the service are average. This restaurant is geared to cater for tourists but it lacks the authenticity of Turkish cuisine.

Excellent view near 360 degrees Good service Meals came quick Tasty too we got a seafood casserole, a dip, rice pudding and a large beer for $115 lira Inc tip. Our hotel advised it was one of the best value terrace restaurants in the area. However if you don't like close interaction with seagulls maybe don't go as they do... More

Calm, peaceful terrace restaurant & bar. Nice service, not cheap but not posh. Go to the terrace for sure. OK the least, for beer and nuts. Food is not fancy but OK. Worth the view - sea+sky+historical silhouette after the hassle of the city in the day.

We went for the view and were not disappointed. Aya Sophia and the Blue Mosque in one direction, the Bosphorus and Sea of Marmara in the other. The big surprise was that the food was very good and the service was excellent. Cold appetizers especially the eggplant with sauce and the octopus salad were excellent. Grilled fresh fish as well.... The view from this restaurant which is on the rooftop is absolutely stunning, but the quality of the food was very disappointing. Our party of 6 had entree and then we all had swordfish which was very very tough. What a shame.

The best view of the city with great seafood selection. Looking down on the Four Seasons Hotel you can see a view of both mosques and the water. Go to IST in mid April for the spectacular tulips all around.

I came here for lunch after a local told me it has the best view. And it does. Maybe because I went at 2ish it was practically empty and I was seated promptly. The waitstaff was wonderful. The view is amazing. I can only imagine it been better at sun down. The food was delicious as well. I had the... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
