Some of the best of Sri Lankan food I've tried. And I'm Sri Lankan! Lobster for £4. And the curry prawns are amazing. Also make sure you try the Kottu Roti.

The Curry Leaf at the Hilton which used to be great and well laid out in the gardens, however as the hotel is undergoing a major renovation whilst staying open it's more of a squashed and pitiful environment. I think it would have been better to close the hotel and complete the work quickly, the lobby, bar and lounge all... More

The Hilton Colombo tries to recreate a village atmosphere within a 5 star hotel and has been fairly successful - food wise. For a visitor to Sri Lanka it will be an experience as several types of food are freshly prepared within sight. The sea food is quite good and the chefs will obligingly assist you in suggesting the type... More

Having arrived in Colombo for a one day stopover, we decided to eat at this restaurant in the grounds of the Hilton where we were staying. I was initially reticent, given that it is (predominantly) buffet, of which I am not a fan. However, the freshly cooked to order seafood made up for this, as did the other freshly prepared... More

Judged by ratings you expect a nice indian place and in a way the food is indeed good but it's effectively a large buffet with a lot of seafood choices that didn't appeal to me at the time so i just had the local sri lankan choices which were really nice (and decently spicy at least, unlike the other stuff)...also,... The buffet does not have a big variety but the sea food part is very good and fresh. You choose the kind of fish, crab, prawns you want and they make it at the moment. We also had a live group going from table to table singing local songs, very interesting. Dessert buffet is very rich and the ambient is... More

Looking back on all the food i've tried in Sri Lanka, perhaps this is the most overpriced but lackluster restaurant that i've eaten at. The seafood was also not consistent in freshness, and the last crab we ate definitely tasted of ammonia.

Maybe I visited on a bad night but otherwise most of the reviews here are very over hyped. I was staying in the Hilton and tried to have dinner here the first night only to be told it was booked for a private party. that left just the noisy all day buffet restaurant or the Italian "reached by shuttle bus"...
