BAD EXPERIENCE!! Heavy,oily,tasteless food!We choose 03 different dishes,none were at least average..Meat seems to be a really low quality one,in the dumplings and main dishes..Service was also “cold” and not very friendly..One of the worst restaurant experiences in our lives.
The place is interesting, service is not the best asset of the restaurant. Food menu offers a variety of local ingredients, quality is average. It needs more attention to the client... clean dishes... prompt reaction. It was not full house, so they can be more...reactive to a large group table.More
*IF* this is the MN within the Hotel 9 building, I walked in and was seated then promptly ignored for a good 20min... i was told the food was good and that there is a menu with English translation- i was not provided with it...i...got up and left (if this is NOT the Hotel 9 MN, then disregard this, please)More
We went to Modern Nomad for the Mongolian BBQ. The food was very good, though the waiter only followed up on our orders if we tracked him through the restaurant. We tried to ask another waiter to help, but she sneered at us and then...completely ignored us. Granted, we did not speak Mongolian -- no one there seemed to speak English, but most of the staff were rude - which was not something we experienced in other restaurants. The waiter did try to help us once we got his attention.More

This is a popular restaurant for people to eat Traditional Mongolian foods. Foreigners tend to eat here if they want to try Mongolian food in a modern atmosphere. The Mongolian food is priced higher than normal since you are eating in a nice restaurant. If...you can, it is better to eat Mongolian food from the countryside. It can be a good option for getting introduced to the Mongolian cuisine. Most of dishes are adopted to the international taste. Nice fresh salads as well
Came here for dinner as it is near the hotel i was staying. Ordered the grilled pork rib and it has way too much fat for my liking. Only perhaps a third of it is meat. Not a satisfying meal at all. Service was good...though.More
Nice presentation, faster service than most Mongolian eateries (which is to say that it's still freakishly slow AF), food is not too bad. If your purpose for visiting Mongolia is to rub shoulders with fellow western tourists, you've found your mark.
Various ways to eat mongolian meat, from traditional ones to less usual ones, like the sheep head. Of course, other meats are also available, to eat while drinking the milk tea.
We had our first lunch here in Ulaanbaatar and Mongolia, brought by our tour guide and driver. We ordered the grilled chicken and some salads with beers. The food was reasonably good and service staff were quite attentive. It seems like a popular place, especially...for the tourists. Nice interior design and ambience. However, the price can be on the steep side as an average meal can cost 20,000-30,000 Tughrik (8-11 USD), including drinks in this restaurant. Similar food may cost half in other places. In fact, this is the best meal we had in Mongolia since we paid for meals ourselves. Other time when the meals were provided by our tour company named, Travel-to-Mongolia, were either average or less than average sometimes.More
The restaurant is very nice. If you want Mongol food, this is place to. Prices are moderate. I give it only 3 points because the food is not really to my taste. But that is my personal view.
The place was about half full. I waited for over an hour as a number of tables that arrived and ordered later were served. When they still couldn't tell me when it was coming, I paid for my drinks and left.
Although not visible from outside, the restaurant is spacious and nicely decorated. Food and service are good English is spoken. Quite some locals when we were there. Would return.
