It is a great place for views when the sun is setting. The food is good and staff are attentive. It is a large venue so I cannot say it is quaint but they offer live music at night on the weekends and the musicians...were good as they sang both local and western songs.More

West of the night market there are dozens of riverside restaurants which are little more than open air street food. A stunning range of options are available from BBQ meat and fish to soups and rice, stews and noodles. The open air atmosphere is great...and the choice is wide. There are western and other asian (Japanese) options as well. We ate here twice, having one night the best fried spring rolls we ate in the whole of Laos. For a different experience and great, cheap food I highly recommend this area. It is also great for people watching and is convenient for exploring the night market.More

If you are in the vicinity, this huge restaurant is worth a visit. It looks clean and the service is attentive. The food is very reasonably priced and comes in large portions. I ordered an onion omelette but I was served an omelette with minced...chicken for the same price. It is a decent place to dine in aircon comfort with a river view. However, I do not suggest that you make a trip to that area just to check out the restaurant.More

The mekong riverside restaurant is a whole stretch of restaurant by the river. Most of the food offered Laos cuisine. What I liked most are the BBQ food, fried rice and hot pot, simply wonderful, overlooking Mekong River and Thailand Nong Kai, best place to...chill out for a dinner with your loved one or friends. Price wise will be slightly more expensive than some local eatery, but you pay for the nice scenery and atmosphere, definitely worth it.More

If you want a little european food...you'll get it, if you want a little Lao food you'll get it...it is an ok place to go for lunch in particular...but not top of the hit list if you are a residient of Vientiane...in saying that I...tend to take visitors there because it doesn't 'challenge' them too much :)More

This is one of the worlds most romantic locations. Sitting on the bar and facing the river, having a Beer Lao and let the thoughts fly into the sky ... Wow! Live-bands singing romantic songs.

The Riverside is behind PVO and next to the new Mekong Deck. Not to be confused with the 'Riverside 2" restaurant the other side of Mekong Deck. They serve thai and Lao favourites and provide good value food right next to the river bank. Their...pad kapao is very good.More
