This restaurant is in an old French colonial building that in the 1920s was Bank Indochines Cambodia HQ. It was bought by a Chinese businessman but abandoned during the wars. The daughters of the businessman returned to the mansion and spent a fortune refurbishing and creating a fabulous restaurant upstairs. The Michelin star chef prepares wonderful meals. Highly recommended.

Visited Vans for dinner last night. The place was recommended by a friend who had been there some months ago, so we didn't know quite what to expect. The setting was a nice old bank building. The restaurant is on the upper floor and they also have a roof top bar, although we did not try it. Service was very... More

Not one to complain about cheap eats attended Vans for a charity gig at $25 per head found the food average pasta was cold on arriving and got me thinking they dont deal with large bookings often. We were around 40 pax. No smoking inside no problem as a smoker but the deteriated outside and 3 non working fans were... More

Our visit to Van's for dinner was one of the worst experiences we had at a French fine dining restaurant. Upon arrival, we asked to be placed at a different table, not next to a pillar. They said the table next to us was reserved, but no other couple ended up sitting at that table! When the main waiter sat... More

This beautifully restored old bank building is home to this restaurant. The menu, although not extensive, offers choices for all tastes. We went for the $35 three course dinner which offers beautifully prepared and executed recipes and is excellent value for money. Service is good, just there when you want it and unobtrusive when you don't. The only downside was... More

Set at the former Bank Indochine building (the vaults are still there), houses the best French cuisine by far anywhere in Cambodia. A bit pricey, but worth the extra for fine interior, and especially the food (lest I forget the creme brulee). A must stop for a piece of French colonial experience in the extreme orient.

Great food, quick service, no background music at first 30 minutes, making it quite secretive, too much aircon to cool off our steak and other dishes. The oysters were suspect; when we ordered a dozen, the waitress came back to us that there were only 11 left. Might not be that fresh... The dishes and dessert were speechlessly great, just... More

I must confess that the main reason for booking our dinner was to dine in another great example of French colonial architecture, formerly Banque de l´Indochine. The building belong to a wealthy local family which fled after Khmer Rouge came to power, but returned earlier this century and restored it lovingly to its former glory. The food, prepared by a... We went by tuk tuk from Raffles to Van's past the US embassy - it was close enough to walk, but we were counselled not to do so in Phnom Penh at night. Located in the former Banque Indochine building, where the vaults can still be seen on the ground floor, the restaurant upstairs is in a beautiful room restored... More

I like the atmosphere and set menu. Definitely I ll come back for its upcoming monthly menu. Pork shop is juicy and good with its pepper sauce. Also escargot is a must try.
