The most famous place in bandar to eat ambuyat...and finally ate it! :D It was a unique experience, with the stick to roll the "gluey" ambuyat and dip to the sauce... The sauce was not too spicy, yet had a good fresh smell of lime. Overall, I like it :)

The Aminah Arif restaurant is very famous for traditional Bruneian dishes, especially a dish called Ambuyat, which is made of sago that is served in a gluey mass eaten with wooden sticks dipped into fish sauce . The menus have photographs and should cost about $15-30 Brunei dollars. This restaurant is located at the Gadong surburb of Bandar Seri Begawan

Been here twice and both times, we came out satisfied. I asked my local colleagues the restaurant that serves Bruneian food and this is the place that serves the best Ambuyat. Enjoyed the Ambuyat with Tempoyak and grilled fish. My kid likes the Ayam Penyet and we polished clean the Ulam platter with its delicious sambal. You can call a... More

One of the best places to experience Bruneian sago-based 'ambuyat' set! A set can feed up to 3 or 4 people for just under BND 20- with a selection of condiments to suit your palate. They also served other types of traditional kueh and a range of Malay food. Environment is catered for both small and large groups, family and... More

I always love the Nasi Lemak bungkus here. It comes with a nasi lemak or plain rice, sambal, anchovies, beans, egg slice, fried chicken or daging rendang. It cost you only B$2 each pack. Tips for you, please come early in the morning if you want to order the nasi lemak. The nasi lemak always sold out here.

The restaurant offers local Malay cuisine and traditional Brunei food; Ambuyat. It is so tasty and worth to try. Not very expensive food but not so clean also. Staff (mostly Indonesian) always talk to each other.

If you want to try local cusine from Brunei this is the place to go. Situated not far from the largest mosque in town, one of the highlights of BSB, this place is the destination for locals, business people and tourists to sample local cusine. We went there to try the ambuyat which is a truly Bruneian dish (probably one of... More
