We were a group of 30 - ( Business - Incentive Trip for Business Partners ). Very good place to experience local ambiance and local food. Middle eastern crowd will love this place. Our group being Indian, did miss some spice. But thoroughly enjoyed and...had a great time.More

I was in Baku on business with two companions and a local colleague asked us if we’d like to join him for a meal in a ‘proper Azeri restaurant’ - glad we said yes! After parking in what in the darkness seemed a bit of...a back street, we were led into the welcoming hallway of Sirvansah where our coats were taken & we were ushered to our table. Dining takes place in a stone-built room with arches and domed ceilings - it feels straight out of a Silk Road travelogue. Local musicians played mysterious instruments, the young male singer had a beautiful voice. At intervals the music would stop for a while, and dancers in national costume would appear on the floor and dance, they were skilled and it easy great to watch. However if you need to have quiet times to talk without background noise there are plenty of pauses in entertainment, which I liked. Most of the customers were Azeri rather than tourists so I didn’t get the impression the dancing & music were staged only to impress foreigners - the performers were being applauded and welcomed with enthusiasm. Food - you don’t come here just to be entertained, it’s first & foremost a restaurant. Azeri food is delicious - very fresh, tasty vegetables, grilled meats, yoghurts, flatbreads - similar to eastern Mediterranean cuisine but with an Asiatic flavour. We had starters of a mixed platter of regional food including a pomegranate-based dish, olives, fresh greens, tomatoes, humus & breads. Main course a grilled rack of lamb in a honey glaze, with small tasty baked potatoes. Dessert a plate of sweet pastries like Turkish baklava. All washed down with delicious Azeri red wine. Wonderful meal, served with a smile. The biggest surprise was the bill - four of us, as much as we could eat; two bottles of wine; great music and dance - and it came to the equivalent of less than £25 per head. Next time I’m in Baku I’ll definitely be back.More

Very nice restaurant in the calm place of city. Full of vintage decoration and style. Cosine is good, as well as service. There is hall as well as private rooms (thematic) Highly recommended

Administration doesn't speak any languages but Azerbaijani. What if I am a tourist and speak only Russian or English? This is unacceptable. Personnel should speak as much languages as they can or at least understand and know basic phrases and be able to communicate. Moreover,...the person I've spoken by phone while trying to make reservation, was not only sarcastic, but rude. I really do not understand how administration of the restaurant allows this to happen. You are a touristic place and should be client-oriented. I would not bring any guests to your place anymore since I am not sure your personnel will not be rude to my guests next time. I am sad to write this review, but people should know what to expect. Despite this disappointing fact, the food is good and interior is worth to see. Please, pay attention to people you work with including administration and waiters to avoid such reviews in future (if you care, of course).More

Right from the beginning of our visit, we were treated as a nuisance. The young woman managing the seating openly berated us for not having made a reservation. We were seated in a side room away from the main areas of the restaurant and the...musical performances that were going on there. They then didn't seat anyone else in that room, which meant it emptied out early. The waiters (after demanding an additional tip on top of hte service charge, quite aggressively) tried to hustle us out of a side door, but we went through the main door and could see that actually we could have stayed longer and didn't need to feel like we were the only ones keeping the place open. The young man in charge of taking our order was very dismissive; as a fluent Russian speaker I asked him whether he would prefer English or Russian, he laughed in my face and said he can speak any language I wanted - when in fact he couldn't understand our request for a gin and tonic! The food was good, but not markedly better than anywhere else in Baku (all food in Baku is amazing). Not worth it to be treated like a pain in the a** and be made to feel they're doing us a favour letting us eat in their restaurant. Compared to how hospitable other establishments in Baku are, this really stood out as rubbish.More

We took our Italian friend to try local food and it was nice. There are better places for local food, but the atmosphere is amazing! The halls and rooms are decorated by musical instruments, manikens of Azerbaijani women and men in traditional clothing, etc. You...will do a tour of the whole place, not just have a dinner. Need to book it, as a lot of the time it is busy. Some big halls have live music, instruments play. One hall has dancing music, often local, people do their celebration events there. I personally liked the food, ordered several types of Pilaf and Kabab, all Lamb. And one pomengranate salad. All was okey. The food price is okey. If you order tea with sweets and jams - that is a bit pricey, to be honest. So a place for food, not so much like a cafeMore

Extremely rude staff. Would not listen to our request. The employee at reception was watching a video on his phone and taking to us told us, a family of 5 (2 adults & 3 children) not to come again!

Our hotel recommended this place for dinner one evening. So we got them to book us a table in the 'live music' room and off we went. Upon arrival we were taken to a table for 2 off to the side of the stage and...in the corner of the room. This did not suit us so we asked to be moved. After a few minutes of activity by the waiters we were moved to a larger table for 4 in the middle of the room. This was a much better location and gave us both a good view of what was happening. The menu is extensive so we decided to let the waiter bring us a selection of dishes the best represented the local food. As a result we got a wide range of dishes but just enough food. We selected a local bottle of red wine that was suggested tour by the waiter. It was good, but probably over priced by a fair amount for Baku. The food price on the other hand was reasonable. The live band played for most of the night and the music was great to have while eating. Although you good see at times the band were just going through the motions for some songs as they must have done this thousands of times, As the name suggests the restaurant is a museum as well so make sure leave time for a tour of the building. It is an interesting mix of local hospitality, history as well as history from the Soviet time. All in all a good night, with good (but not great) food. I could not fault our waiters. They were very attentive and the food was served in a timely fashion. Great for an evening of fun and something different. Probably not the place for a romantic dinner.More

We have chosen this restaurant in order to spend a memorable time in this hostoritical place . Unfortunately,it was the worst experience ever in this country. We were surprised with this rude and unprofessional customer service which is way far from good morals and manners. To express my experience, we went to the restaurant without reservation and they have chosen a dark corner table for us in a smoking area without considering my babies age although their were many empty tables available. They have just treated us in a disgusting racist way. My husband have discussed with them to change the table in a different place , after so many negotiations they have finally accepted and chose an isolated room for us without AC!!! Such a horrible service. My baby is 1 year old have taken some rice and throw it on the floor , the waiter got angry and called his colleague to see the room , and i saw them shaking their heads and saying the word Arabs. Just a disgusting behavior!. I haven’t seen this at all through my whole journey in Azerbaijan. As per my experience, Azerbaijanian people are very welcoming with highly good manners. I haven’t seen such a behavior except in this restaurant. I hope this reaches to Baku Tourism department to govern this restaurant as it is a place that attracts many tourists.More
