I was impressed with quality of food and service. Staff ( Nijat) was very helpful, quickly guided us through the restaurant menu, helped to make great selection of the national food and dry Azeri wine. I recommend trying fried local fish and cheese selection-just delicious.

The staff were friendly and helpful giving us all the tips and advice about the local cuisine. The restaurant itself is gorgeous with lovely decor and layout. First time trying Azerbaijani food and it was incredible. Would definitely recommend this restaurant and we will be back again when we visit Baku in future. There is a vast selection of dishes on the menu and the waiting staff were really helpful explaining all the best dishes to try.

My family and I are going to the centre of Baku almost on a weekly basis enjoying a dinner and casual stroll in the old city or along the boulevard. Sahil Bar & Restaurant has long been on my list to visit. It was the best restaurant we have visited since arriving in Baku just over a year ago. The back ground music was not to loud with a jazzy kind of "flavour'. We could actualy talk and hear one another with ease. The food was fantastic with the focus on Azerbaijani cuisine with a wide variety. The open kitchen, separated with a glass window, was spotlessly clean with cheffs preparing food. For starters we ordered chicken and pumpkin soup, chicken and mushroom donuts (kind of pie) and for main meals: fillet of beef kebab, chicken kebab, turkey kebab and shakh pilaf. At the end it was way to much for 3 people, but we were happy to take some home to be enjoyed again the next day 😁.
Walking into the restaurant I thought "this is going to be an expensive dinner", but it was surprisingly not. The decor and ambiance with back ground music is very stylish. I will come back many times more, maybe not on a weekly basis as I hope never to get so use to this excellent restaurant and not enjoying it any more!

We visited Sahil restaurant for dinner during our stay in Baku. The place itself is nice and cozy and the menu is very wide (I suggest having a look at it on the internet before going), we had some pilaf and some azeri dishes with a couple of mohitos. Unfortunately the cocktails were extremely bland and tasteless, we asked the waiter to add some rum and they did but nevertheless they were mediocre.
Food is good but not over the top, there are better places for less money in Baku for sure.

We ordered a starter to share, then 3 main meals. One of the main meals turned up first even though we’d specifically told them what the starter was. We ordered 3 drinks, mine being the local draft Azerbaijani beer “which I’ve drank many times” as soon as it came I tasted it & informed the waiter that it tasted like vinegar “told him it must have been the first one pulled in a while” he took it away then brought another, it tasted a bit better but still not how it should taste, I asked him to replace it with a bottle of Heinekin as it still tasted bad “he said no problem” “I still haven’t received the Heinekin yet”…. I didn’t make a fuss about not receiving it as we just wanted to eat our food & go. I have to say the food is very nice! Unfortunately the service “on this occasion was woeful” when the bill came it still had a pint of Xirdalan on it “even though I’d sent it back, due to the poor quality”… the waiter went away & 2 minutes later another man came “I can only assume he was some sort of manager” he said “what’s the problem” I explained to him regarding the beer .. his reply was “it’s impossible that it tasted bad” which to say I was shocked by his response was an understatement. For a so called top quality restaurant to argue with a customer regarding a drink which probably costs them 50 qupek a pint ensured that I won’t be returning to the restaurant ever again, anyone who knows draft beer knows there is always a chance it can be affected by pipes etc etc.
Lost customers due to VERY poor service.

We went to Sahil based on reviews from trip advisor that this is a no.1 place for food while visiting Baku. The location is great as well as the decor and ambiance. The staff are all pleasant and very welcoming.
The menu was huge which sometimes can be a worry (jack of all trades). My husband ordered a tenderloin steak which was not tender by any means. The waiter did ask for feedback and we told him it was very tough. They did provide a complimentary yoghurt and dill dip which wasn't really to our liking. Considering the price of the steak which was one of the most expensive items in the menu, it was disappointing.
My wife ordered rolled chicken which was pleasant but again by no means anything special.
Would not be in a rush to go back here. We ate in many places during our stay in Baku, and this was the lowest ranked out of all of them.

Excellent food and great service. The restaurant has a lovey ambience - reservations are highly advised as they book quickly. We wanted to try local cuisine and are vegetarian, Sahil offers great vegetarian choice and the staff are very friendly. Our waiter Chingiz was very attentive and helpful, we would highly recommend coming here!

... with a slight Iranian twist. Grilled dishes are expertly prepared and really what you should go for. What I like here is that they consistently do the simple things well: choban salat, mangal salat, mastokhiyar, grilled meats of all types. The Persianate kebabs are also worth trying: Caspian meat lūleh (kūbīdeh) and Caspian chicken (jūjeh). You won’t find them easily elsewhere in Baku. The wine list has been upgraded recently. Service is consistently friendly but can otherwise be patchy: at the top end of what one can get in town. Atmosphere is cool, contemporary, Caspian, (somewhat) chic. I come here often, which speaks for itself.

We were looking for a restaurant for a lunch. decided to give a try to Sahil restaurant. Waiter Ehtiram was very friendly and recommmended eggplant salad which turned out to be yummmm.😍I also ordered gutabs , they were tasty too. compot was good.

I came here tonight since this restaurant is #1 on TA. Ordered 2 appetizers, a salad, a beef main course, and a mojito and the price for all this is quite cheap! In total I paid 30 USD.
Food is great but what sets this place apart is the service provided by their staffs. Was served by a handsome and polite gentleman named Mehdi and he provided top notch service.
This fellow also speaks perfect English and recommends what's good and what isn't. I was hungry and started ordering anything I wanted. And he actually said it's too much so I scaled back a little bit, thanks to his recommendation.
Definitely would recommend this place for lunch or dinner. Couldn't wait to come back again and try their caviar.

My two girlfriends and I were visiting family in Baku, first we traveled to Istanbul, then Tiblisi, and lastly Baku, this is the best meal we have had for our entire 11 day trip! Everything was perfect, the lighting, the mood, the food, and especially the service! Ehtiram our server was top notch, from the wine service, to the appetizers and through all of our many courses! At one point we mentioned our hands were a bit greasy and before we could ask, he appeared with hand wipes. He offered great salad selections and when our glasses of wine had one sip left he would appear to refill them. This meal was a total experience not just a dinner. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to try upscale traditional Azerbaijani food in a relaxing atmosphere accompanied by friends and family.

Eaten here 3 times now, and everytime the meal and service has been excellent. The Manager speaks perfect English, and is very helpful.
Had the Caspian Fish Soup, followed by Tenderloin with Cherries, sounds funny but trust me it was delicious. Accompanied by Local Azer Red wine *karabakh" the whole experience was superb.
This definately will be my go to place whilst in Baku

Great food and atmosphere. Excellent location - walking distance from the JW Marriott. Nijat was a good and attentive waiter. There was live music which was very interesting. We sampled a number of local dishes - lamb chops, lamb kebab, beef with cherry sauce, beef salad and haloumi. We also had thin pancakes stuffed with either lamb or pumpkin. My favorite was the beef salad and haloumi kebabs. The pancakes were great too. I’d recommend them for local food.

We are regulars at Sahil and always come back as we are especially impressed by the wide selection of delicious modern Azerbaijani food! On our recent visit, we had great service by Gulman who looked after us very well. Nice background live music too! Set by the boulevard, the location is also very nice. Too cold for the terrace in winter but a great spot in the summer!

Amazing food and drinks, elegant but cozy restaurant, and outstandingly friendly staff. Everyone here is taking very good care of you, the service is fast and professional. I really liked the "sturgeon sadj", which did not only taste excellent, but also came served in a sizzling hot pan with coal underneath, which is a great experience. I definitely recommend this place!
